Five ways to relieve menstrual cramps

Five ways to relieve menstrual cramps

Dysmenorrhea is a common problem encountered by many women. Some women do not experience obvious symptoms of dysmenorrhea, perhaps just a little bit, while some women feel very strong dysmenorrhea, with abnormal pain every time they have their period, and they are very tormented. If you want to relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, you must first understand the cause of your dysmenorrhea. Only in this way can you better diagnose and treat the symptoms and make preparations before menstruation to reduce the pain during menstruation.

Some women choose to take painkillers to relieve dysmenorrhea. But this is not a fundamental solution. If the body's qi and blood are not flowing smoothly, taking more painkillers will instead mask the signals sent by the body, thus missing out on the opportunity to regulate qi and blood. The following suggestions are for relieving dysmenorrhea, I hope they can help you.

1. Stay warm: Keeping your body warm will speed up blood circulation and relax your muscles, especially the spasmodic and congested pelvic area. Drink plenty of hot herbal tea or hot lemon juice. You can also place a heating pad or hot water bottle on your abdomen for a few minutes at a time.

2. Take a mineral bath: Add 1 cup of sea salt and 1 cup of sodium bicarbonate to a warm water tank. Soaking for 20 minutes can help relax muscles and relieve menstrual cramps.

3. Exercise: Especially on the eve of menstruation, walking or engaging in other moderate exercise will make you more comfortable during menstruation.

4. Practice yoga: Yoga also has a relaxing effect. Here are some examples. Kneel down with your knees bent, sitting on your heels. Rest your forehead on the ground and stretch your arms out at your sides. Hold this position until you feel uncomfortable.

5. Acupressure: The feet contain a number of acupressure points that are believed to be connected to the qi pathways in the pelvic area. There are acupressure points in the depressions on both sides of the ankles. Gently pinch with your thumb and fingertips, and move up along the Achilles tendon to the calf muscle. After finishing the right foot, switch to the left foot and continue pressing each foot for a few minutes.

In addition, in order to relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, female friends should have a balanced diet, not eat too sweet or too salty, have a moderate taste, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits or chicken to replenish the body's vitamins, minerals, etc. Calcium is very effective in relieving dysmenorrhea, so female friends can drink more milk before menstruation to reduce the occurrence of dysmenorrhea.
