So how much weight gain is normal in the second month of pregnancy?

In the first two months of pregnancy, there is no strict standard for pregnant women's weight gain. Because the appetite of pregnant women will change during pregnancy, if the appetite is much better, the weight may increase by four or five pounds. But if you have a poor appetite and eat very little at each meal, your weight gain will be slower, and you may only gain one or two pounds, or even no weight gain.

In addition, the first two months are the time when pregnant women experience morning sickness. If pregnant women vomit whatever they eat, their weight may not increase but decrease. As the morning sickness subsides, the weight of pregnant women will begin to increase. This is all normal. Therefore, pregnant women should not worry, because not gaining weight does not mean that the fetus is unhealthy.

In order to determine whether the fetus is healthy, a prenatal check-up is required, combining various examination procedures for comprehensive judgment. Simple weight gain cannot indicate anything. There are also some pregnant women who have a reasonable diet and gain weight very slowly, but the fetus grows very healthily. This is the most ideal situation, eliminating the worry of postpartum weight loss.
