5. Requirements for follow-up visits for space maintainers

1. Regular check-ups should be done at the hospital every 3 to 6 months. Space maintainers are suitable for growing and developing children, so they are different from adult restorations, and regular check-ups are very important.

1. Daily cleaning: Brush your teeth for 3 minutes every morning and evening using the Bass method. For children aged 3 to 6, use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste, and for children aged 6 and above, use a soybean-sized amount.

2. Regular fluoride application and pit and fissure sealing: You can consult your doctor whether fluoride application is needed 6 months after the eruption of deciduous teeth. It is recommended to seal the deciduous molars at the age of 3 to 4, and seal the "six-year molars" at the age of 6-8.

3. Diet management: control your mouth, move your legs, reduce sweets, eat more fruits and vegetables, clean your teeth, get more sun, and supplement vitamin D.
