Cosmetics Science Platform | The school season is here! Students, take care of your skin!

It’s the beginning of the new school year. Facing a new learning environment and pace of life, students’ skin is also facing new challenges. Hormonal changes during puberty, academic pressure, irregular work and rest, and other factors can affect skin health. Mastering scientific skin care methods can not only improve skin condition, but also enhance self-confidence and learning efficiency.

1. The uniqueness of adolescent skin

During adolescence, hormone secretion is vigorous and sebaceous glands are active, which can easily lead to excessive oil secretion. Most students will encounter acne problems, which is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to worry too much. Increased academic pressure and irregular work and rest schedules can affect the condition of the skin. Staying up late can also lead to a decrease in the skin barrier function, resulting in dryness, dullness and other problems. The incidence of skin problems in students who lack sleep is higher than that of students with normal work and rest schedules. At the same time, environmental factors cannot be ignored. Dust and air-conditioning environment in the classroom can affect skin health. The dust concentration in the classroom air can be higher than that outdoors for a variety of reasons. These particles can clog the pores and cause skin problems.

2. Simple and effective skin care program

Cleansing is the first step in skin care. Choose a mild cleansing product and cleanse once in the morning and evening, but do not over-cleanse to avoid damaging the skin barrier. Over-cleansing may also increase the loss of skin moisture. Moisturizing is the key to skin care. Choose a moisturizing product suitable for your skin type and use it promptly after cleansing to improve the skin barrier function.

Sun protection is also important. Ultraviolet rays on cloudy days can also damage the skin. It is recommended to choose sunscreen products with SPF30 or above and reapply every 2-3 hours. Consistent use of sunscreen products can reduce ultraviolet damage.

3. Develop good living habits

Get enough sleep: Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a day. Good sleep can promote skin repair, and adequate sleep can improve the skin's ability to repair itself. Eat a balanced diet: Eat more vegetables and fruits, and eat less greasy food. A high-sugar diet may increase the incidence of acne. Keep an exercise habit: Moderate exercise can promote blood circulation and improve skin condition. Surveys show that if you exercise more than 3 times a week, your skin condition will improve.

Summary: Adolescence is a critical period for skin care and an effective time to develop good skin care habits. Scientific skin care methods and a healthy lifestyle can not only improve skin condition, but also lay a good foundation for future skin health. Skin care is not something that can be done overnight, but a lifestyle habit that requires long-term persistence.
