12 weeks nt value is a girl

Many parents are curious about the gender of their children when they are pregnant. Therefore, various measures will be taken to find out the gender of the child. Recently, a pregnant friend asked me whether it is a boy or a girl if the nt value is more than 1 at 12 weeks. I think many friends are curious about this question, so I posted the question and answer to solve everyone's doubts.

12 weeks nt value is more than 1, is it a boy or a girl

This data has nothing to do with men and women, but if this data is 1.6mm, it is normal data. As long as it does not exceed 2.5mm, it is within the normal range. However, if the data exceeds 2.5mm, you should go to the hospital for an invasive DNA test, as there may be abnormalities during pregnancy, such as congenital heart disease, in other words, 213 syndrome, so an invasive DNA test is necessary.

What does nt mean?

nt refers to the maximum thickness of the soft tissue between the skin layer and subcutaneous tissue on the back of the fetus's neck. At 10 to 14 weeks of pregnancy, NT ≥ 3 mm is considered abnormal. In other words, the normal range of nt value is below 3mm. If the test shows that the nt value is more than 3mm, amniocentesis or minimally invasive DNA testing is usually required for further testing. Amniocentesis has certain hazards, while minimally invasive DNA testing has relatively small risks, so it is recommended to do minimally invasive DNA testing.

In fact, I think parents don't have to be too obsessed with the baby's gender. The moment the baby's gender is announced at birth will undoubtedly be an exciting moment. If a girl is born, I believe the pregnant friend will raise her into a little lady; if a boy is born, he can be raised into a little man. Therefore, no matter it is a boy or a girl, they are the favorite children in the hearts of their parents.
