People who always feel tired are advised to check their thyroid gland

Do you often feel tired, listless, or even depressed ? If these symptoms occur frequently and are difficult to relieve after rest, it may be a sign of hypothyroidism .

The thyroid gland, a small gland located in the front of our neck, although inconspicuous, is the key to regulating metabolism and affecting the health of the whole body.

Hypothyroidism, have you been infected?

Hypothyroidism, commonly known as "hypothyroidism", is a disease caused by reduced synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormones or weakened tissue function, which leads to reduced systemic metabolism. In simple terms, it means that the "little motor of vitality" in the body - thyroid hormone is not enough . It will not only make your body sluggish, but also may affect your mood, memory, and even fertility.

Its symptoms vary, including but not limited to:

1. Feeling sleepy and lacking energy every day: Hypothyroidism slows down your metabolism, just like pressing the "slow motion button" for your body, making you lack energy all day long.

2. Decreased memory: If the thyroid hormone is insufficient, the brain will "go on strike", making you inattentive, slow to react, and even affecting your study and work.

3. Menstrual disorders: Female friends should pay special attention. Hypothyroidism may cause irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and other problems, affecting reproductive health.

4. Constipation troubles: Intestinal motility slows down, digestive ability decreases, and constipation becomes commonplace.

5. Depression: Hypothyroidism can also make you feel low or even depressed, affecting your mental health.

If you find yourself experiencing several of the above symptoms, then you may need to pay attention to your thyroid health.

Three ways to self-diagnose the risk of hypothyroidism

1. Hair pulling experiment : Do not wash your hair for several days in a row, and then gently pull a strand of hair. If more than 5 hairs are lost, it may be pathological hair loss, which is related to hypothyroidism.

2. Test body temperature : Measure your body temperature after getting up in the morning for three consecutive days. If it is lower than 36℃ , it may indicate hypothyroidism.

3. Symptom self-diagnosis : If you have 5 or more of the following symptoms, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Feeling weak and often sleepy

Unexplained weight gain

constipate

Dry skin and brittle nails

Increased blood pressure or slow heart rate

Fear of cold

Slow brain thinking and memory loss

Low mood

Muscle and bone stiffness and pain

Increased cholesterol levels

Protect your thyroid gland from these five aspects

1. Take proper iodine intake : Iodine is an important element for synthesizing thyroid hormones. Avoid excessive or insufficient intake. If there is no special advice from a doctor, eat iodized salt and seafood normally.

2. Quit smoking : Smoking not only damages the lungs, but also the thyroid gland. Quitting smoking and avoiding secondhand smoke are important measures to protect the thyroid gland.

3. Keep your emotions stable : Emotional fluctuations have an impact on the thyroid gland. Communicate more with people and relieve negative emotions in time.

4. Regular work and rest schedule and moderate exercise : Regular work and rest schedule and moderate exercise can enhance the body's metabolic function and improve immunity.

5. Regular physical examinations : Especially for people with a family history of thyroid disease or those at high risk of autoimmune or metabolic diseases, check thyroid function regularly.
