Colorful "Blood Question"

Colorful "Blood Question"

Two scenarios I encountered at work: One is: Aunt Li who had a health check-up, after she had her blood drawn, she curiously asked me: "Why do you have to draw so many tubes of blood, and the colors are different..."; The other scenario is: Xiao Wang, who was checking female hormones, said to me: "I like blue, can you help me draw a blue tube?" Now, let us connect these two scenarios and move towards the world of "blood questions" together.

First of all, the color of the blood collection tube cap is not just randomly chosen for the sake of appearance, but is specially designed by adding different substances. These blood collection tubes of different colors each have unique uses.

Next, let’s take a look at the order in which the blood collection tubes are used.

Blue tube - mainly responsible for testing coagulation function. Every surgery, big or small, must pass this first. If you fail to pass it, no knives or pliers can come near you.

Black tube - mainly responsible for detecting erythrocyte sedimentation rate. When encountering tumors, tuberculosis, lupus erythematosus, etc., the indicators will rise rapidly.

Red tube - mainly responsible for screening various infectious diseases such as AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis B, etc., to protect pregnant mothers.

Green tube - mainly responsible for testing emergency biochemistry, blood rheology, trace elements, etc. It is the green of life and a pioneer in testing.

Purple tube - mainly responsible for testing routine blood tests. When encountering viruses or bacteria, it can be used to find out the real culprit of the pathogen and capture parasites.

Gray tube - mainly responsible for detecting blood sugar and can remind you whether you are away from the threat of diabetes.

Is it difficult to remember the above sequence? Here is a trick: A boy (blue) is very dark (black) and must obey the instructions (purple) when crossing the red (red) green (green) light. Let's recite it with me: A boy is very dark - must obey the instructions when crossing the red light.

Each color of these blood collection tubes represents a different mission and responsibility, and they silently play an indispensable role in the medical arena.
