After heavy rain, prevent infectious diseases, especially intestinal infectious diseases such as dysentery, infectious diarrhea, and skin inflammation.

Erysipelas and lymphangitis

Generally, after a heavy rain, when people wade through water, bacteria can easily enter through the skin pores and get into the lymphatic vessels, causing erysipelas and lymphangitis. This is more likely to happen if there are cuts on the feet!

Intertriginous rash, tinea pedis

After soaking in stagnant water for a long time, the skin's barrier function is destroyed, and fungi and bacteria have the opportunity to invade, which can easily cause skin diseases such as intertriginous eczema and tinea pedis.

People with a history of diabetes need to be more careful, leave the sewage environment in time, dry their feet, and prevent fungal and bacterial infections.

Cramps, arthritis, rheumatism

On rainy days, many people will put on sandals to go to get off work in the rain, and will rinse their feet with cold water to keep them clean. However, washing feet with cold water will suddenly close and block the pores, and coupled with muscle fatigue and increased tension, the legs and feet are prone to cramps, and may even induce arthritis and rheumatism.

In addition, sewage is generally full of insects. If the insect bite only causes itching, you can use hormone ointments such as mometasone furoate cream to relieve the itching.

① If you have to wade, apply waterproof ointment on your legs, especially between the toes, before wading.

② If there are already breaks on the skin, apply antibacterial ointment on the wound first. If possible, wear high rain boots or cover them with thick plastic bags. Avoid wading barefoot.

③Try not to wear wading shoes until they are clean.

④ After returning home, rinse your feet carefully (preferably with warm water), and then wipe them dry with a clean towel to keep them dry. If necessary, soak your calves in a solution of 12.5% ​​alum and 3% saline for 2 to 3 minutes, then wash with clean water and dry; or wipe and disinfect with an appropriate amount of medical alcohol.

⑤ If you experience symptoms such as erythema, blisters, itching, etc. after wading in water, please seek medical attention immediately, especially if you already have tinea pedis or other skin diseases. Do not use medication based on experience.

⑥ People with onychomycosis, athlete's foot, or cuts on their feet should pay more attention to maintaining foot hygiene.

⑦ The cold starts from the feet. Before going out on a rainy day, it is best to prepare a pair of warmer shoes and cotton socks in your bag. When your feet get wet, you can wipe them dry with a tissue or towel as soon as possible and put on dry shoes and socks to keep warm.
