Pregnancy-induced hypertension and its nursing program

In the nursing work of obstetrics and gynecology, the care of gestational hypertension has always been a key topic of concern for nurses. The full name of gestational hypertension is pregnancy-induced hypertension, which can cause abnormal increase in the blood pressure of pregnant women. If it is not properly intervened, it can induce a series of adverse pregnancy outcomes, which will cause great harm to the health of mothers and babies. In this article, the author analyzes gestational hypertension and its nursing plan from the perspective of nurses, hoping to effectively help readers master relevant knowledge, so as to promote the scientific advancement of gestational hypertension nursing work.

1. What is pregnancy-induced hypertension?

In the field of obstetrics and gynecology, as one of the common problems, gestational hypertension refers to a type of problem in which pregnancy and high blood pressure coexist. It is a general term for a group of diseases, including gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia, and pregnancy complicated by chronic hypertension. At present, the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease in the field of obstetrics and gynecology are still in the process of exploration. Some research data point out that multiple factors such as excessive activation of inflammatory immunity, abnormal placental structure, damaged vascular endothelial cells, and genetic genes may lead to the occurrence of the disease. For pregnant women, gestational hypertension can cause a series of symptoms such as abnormally high blood pressure, limb edema, and proteinuria, which is not conducive to the protection of their physical and mental health. At the same time, the disease can also affect the functions of the organs and circulatory system of pregnant women, increasing the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

2. Nursing plan for pregnancy-induced hypertension

1. Standardizing the daily diet structure of pregnant women

During the care of patients with gestational hypertension, dietary care is a key topic of concern for nurses. Some clinical studies have shown that high-sodium diet and improper dietary habits may lead to abnormal increases in blood pressure indicators, which is extremely detrimental to the health of pregnant women with gestational hypertension. Based on this, nurses should help pregnant women with gestational hypertension to standardize their dietary structure and develop good dietary habits during the nursing work, and further promote the full achievement of blood pressure control goals. On this issue, nurses should formulate scientific dietary plans for pregnant women to ensure that they fully implement the principle of light diet and control sodium salt intake. At the same time, pregnant women should be encouraged to scientifically match fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs and milk, avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and other ingredients, and promote the continuous optimization of their own health.

2. Provide guidance for pregnant women’s negative emotions

Drastic fluctuations in emotions can affect blood pressure indicators. Therefore, in the process of caring for pregnant women with gestational hypertension, nurses should communicate with them in a timely manner and guide their emotions scientifically, in order to fully optimize the overall health of pregnant women. In order to achieve this goal, nurses should understand some of the real thoughts of pregnant women and actively use encouraging language to comfort them emotionally, help them build good confidence in recovery, and help them control their condition.

3. Guiding pregnant women to regulate their daily routine

In order to fully protect the physical and mental health of pregnant women with gestational hypertension, nurses should encourage pregnant women to adjust and regulate their daily habits during the nursing period. In terms of specific practices, nurses should guide pregnant women to develop scientific habits of going to bed early and getting up early, ensure that pregnant women get enough sleep every day, avoid staying up late to watch TV series or play with mobile phones, and avoid drinking refreshing drinks such as coffee or strong tea before going to bed to avoid adverse effects on their sleep quality.

4. Implementing guidance on medication for pregnant women

During the clinical period of pregnant women with gestational hypertension, some doctors will intervene with drug treatment for pregnant women with high blood pressure values. In this nursing work, nurses should actively provide guidance on medication for pregnant women, so as to ensure that pregnant women strictly follow the doctor's orders to take medication, so as to reasonably control their blood pressure indicators. When dispensing medication, nurses should promptly provide detailed explanations of the usage and dosage of different drugs and their antihypertensive mechanisms, and explain the possible adverse reactions and countermeasures during medication, so as to ensure the reasonable improvement of the safety of medication for pregnant women.

5. Encourage pregnant women to exercise scientifically

In order to help pregnant women with gestational hypertension improve their physical and mental health, nurses should actively encourage them to participate in exercise during the nursing period, and combine exercise to strengthen their physical fitness and immunity. In order to improve the nursing effect, pregnant women are advised to take some gentle sports as the first choice to avoid placing additional burden on fetal development and blood pressure control.

In general, in the process of caring for pregnant women with gestational hypertension, in order to help pregnant women scientifically control their condition, nurses should actively intervene in the diet of pregnant women, and at the same time carry out communication between nurses and patients to help pregnant women establish a correct attitude towards the disease and confidence in recovery, and then promote the nursing work of nurses.
