Scapulohumeral periarthritis is also known as periarthritis of the shoulder, commonly known as frozen shoulder or frozen shoulder. It is a chronic specific inflammation of the shoulder capsule and its surrounding ligaments, tendons and bursae, characterized by gradual onset of shoulder pain, especially at night, which gradually worsens and limits the function of the shoulder joint and worsens day by day. After reaching a certain level, it gradually eases until it is completely restored. The difference between frozen shoulder and rotator cuff : When the affected hand is passively raised, the shoulder joint of patients with periarthritis will suddenly get stuck after opening it to a certain angle, and no amount of force can open it further. For patients with rotator cuff tears, pain will appear after the shoulder joint is opened to a certain angle, but continued force can complete a relatively complete joint movement. Performance In the early stage of frozen shoulder, pain is the main symptom. The pain often occurs in the front and back of the shoulder and at the insertion point of the deltoid muscle. Most of the causes are fear of cold, which is aggravated by cold. Shoulder movement often induces pain, and the passive range of motion of the shoulder joint is acceptable. As time progresses, the condition gradually worsens, and the joint movement function changes from limited to obstructed, especially abduction, elevation, extension and pronation. The degree of dysfunction is related to the severity of adhesion. The disease is common in people around 50 years old, and the incidence rate in women is slightly higher than that in men. It is more common in manual laborers. If it is not effectively treated, it may seriously affect the functional activities of the shoulder joint. There may be widespread tenderness in the shoulder joint. Treatment 1. Stand upright, then put your feet shoulder-width apart, bend your upper body forward to 90 degrees, let the painful arm hang naturally, and then rotate clockwise and counterclockwise horizontally. The range of rotation should be from small to large, and the directions should alternate. 2. First, stand upright, facing the wall, put the fingers of the painful arm on the wall, and start to gradually crawl upwards from the chest. Stop when you can no longer move upwards due to pain, and then gradually climb down. Repeat this climb and make marks. You can use tape or a pen to mark, but never use brute force to stretch. 3. Stand up straight naturally, with your feet shoulder-width apart, arms stretched out, fingers interlocked behind your back, and then use both hands to pull your shoulders back. 4. Stand up straight with your legs apart. Raise your head, straighten your chest, and tighten your abdomen. Place your right hand below and your left hand above, with your palms pressed tightly against your back. Adjust your breathing. Hold the position for a few seconds, then repeat the position with your left hand below and your right hand above. 5. Stretch the front part of the shoulder capsule in a standing position, flex it to about 90 degrees, keep your palm fixed and motionless, and rotate your body away from your palm. When you rotate to the maximum extent or feel slight pain, stop rotating and hold for 5 seconds. 6. Stand up, hold the gymnastics stick with both hands, and raise both arms straight at the same time. Lead the affected side with the healthy side. Stop when you feel pain, hold for 5 seconds, and put it down. 7. Hold the wooden stick with both hands and rotate the other arm to the left. First rotate it clockwise 30 times, then rotate it counterclockwise 30 times, and do the same exercise on the opposite side. The larger the rotation arc, the better! prevention In daily life and work, for example, when you have to work at a desk all day, you need to move your body every once in a while. For women, when carrying a single-shoulder bag, it is not advisable to use only one shoulder for a long time, and it is not advisable to put too many heavy objects in the bag. The cold and dampness invading the body of the shoulder can cause muscle tissue and small blood vessels to contract, slow down the metabolism of the tissue, and produce more metabolic products, which stimulate the muscle tissue and cause spasm. Over time, it causes fibrous degeneration of muscle cells and muscle contraction dysfunction, which leads to various symptoms. Therefore, it is very important to keep warm in daily life, especially to avoid cold shoulders, to prevent periarthritis of the shoulder. |
