A high-protein diet is not for everyone

According to the recommendation of the Chinese Nutrition Society, the protein intake of adults should account for 10% to 15% of the total energy supply. If the age is relatively young, this ratio can be increased appropriately. In addition, there should be a certain amount of high-quality protein in this ratio, generally requiring animal protein and soy protein to account for 30% to 50% of the total dietary protein .

However, the protein intake required in the highly recommended high-protein diet is generally more than twice the recommended amount, and it is very likely that excessive protein intake will occur. In particular, people with diseases, especially those with abnormal kidney function, should decide their diet according to the intake recommended by the doctor .

What is high-quality protein?

Generally speaking, beans are rich in protein, with a reasonable amino acid composition, and a high utilization rate in the body, making them a high-quality source of plant protein. Among animal proteins, eggs and milk have a relatively balanced amino acid composition and are an important source of high-quality protein for the human body.

To consume protein, it is recommended to maintain a balanced diet while eating more beans, eggs and milk .
