When a baby grows "milk teeth", how should parents deal with it?

What is "horse teeth"

Some babies will have several to dozens of rice-sized white particles on their gums when they are just born or 1-2 months after birth. These are called epithelial beads in medicine. These are epithelial tissues that are formed after the epithelium of the dental plate breaks during the development of the tooth germ. Some of them are absorbed, and some of them gradually proliferate and become keratinized, forming small spherical white particles on the gums. These are "horse teeth", also called "plate teeth".

What is the impact of "horse teeth" on babies

Milk teeth are not a disease, will not affect the development of deciduous teeth, and will not have any adverse effects on the baby.

How to deal with baby's "horse teeth"

Some new parents lack parenting experience and use needles or cloth to rub, which is extremely wrong. Because the gum mucosa of babies is very tender and thin, once the "mother's teeth" are pierced or scratched, it is very easy to cause infection. Bacteria and viruses will invade the baby's body through the pierced oral mucosa, causing oral and facial bacterial and viral infections. In severe cases, sepsis may occur, and even life-threatening.

Therefore, the baby's "horse teeth" should be left to fall off on their own without any treatment. If the baby's "horse teeth" grow too large and are accompanied by a series of reactions such as not wanting to drink milk, biting the nipple, redness and swelling of the surrounding gums, or even crying loudly, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time.
