What should I do if I can’t help but move my eyes during myopia surgery?

"Dr. Wei, I want to have myopia surgery! But now I'm scared!"

"I heard that the eyes cannot move during myopia surgery. I'm afraid I won't be able to control it..."
Many people are worried about this issue.

Today I will tell you in detail that the following methods are usually used to solve this problem.

1. Preoperative training

Before the operation, a preoperative gaze training is usually performed. The method is as follows: lie flat on the bed, cover the left eye with the left hand (the left eye must be open), raise the right hand and extend the index finger, and stare at the index finger with the right eye for 30 seconds to 1 minute. 2. Ocular surface anesthesia

Before the operation, the medical staff will give our eyes surface anesthesia. Gently drop a few drops of surface anesthetic eye drops on the surface of the eyeball to eliminate the pain and discomfort caused by the operation and achieve the anesthesia effect.

3. Look at the green light

During the operation, when the laser scan is being performed, you should look directly at the green gaze light above you for about 16-26 seconds. If the green gaze light disappears, do not move without authorization, but maintain your original posture and wait for the doctor's next instructions.

4. Eye fixation

During the operation, the doctor will use an eyelid speculum to stabilize the eyeball and prevent it from moving.

5. Slight rotation

During the operation, the patient only slightly rotates his eyeballs, the amplitude is not large, and it is not in the important optical area or the lower layer of the cutting, so the visual effect will not be seriously affected. At this time, the operation can continue, but try not to move around.

Dean Wei Jing's tips:

If you blink less often, tear secretion will decrease, and your eyes will become more susceptible to dryness. You can use artificial tears or medical help.
