Early menstruation and prolonged menstruation

Early menstruation and prolonged menstruation

Prolonged menstruation refers to menstruation lasting more than 7 days, or even continuous bleeding for about half a month, with very little menstrual flow, or slightly exceeding the normal amount. This is called "prolonged menstruation". Prolonged menstruation should be distinguished from menorrhagia and menorrhagia, but prolonged menstruation can also cause menorrhagia. So, what are the reasons for early menstruation and prolonged menstruation? There are six common causes of prolonged menstrual periods.

First: bleeding due to imbalance of uterine function. For example, anovulation, male sexual dysfunction, abnormal uterine bleeding and irregular uterine wall shedding are all caused by endocrine function problems, resulting in prolonged menstruation.

Second: pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammation, intrauterine polyps, endometritis, etc. are all caused by poor intrauterine blood circulation, atrophy and necrosis or pelvic congestion, which lead to menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation.

Third: uterine fibroids. Especially uterine and cervical fibroids, due to the expansion of the total area of the uterine body and abnormal contraction, it can cause excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

Fourth: chronic uterine hypertrophy. Due to pelvic congestion, the estrogen level of the uterus and ovaries continues to increase, causing hypertrophy of the uterine myometrium, resulting in excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

Fifth: endometriosis. It often causes excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation due to the impact on the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or the increase of the endometrium.

Sixth: Bleeding due to imbalance of uterine function. For example, anovulation, male sexual dysfunction, abnormal uterine bleeding and irregular uterine wall shedding are all caused by endocrine function problems, resulting in prolonged menstruation. Blood disease. Such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., often accompanied by menarche. If severe uterine bleeding occurs, the menstrual period will be prolonged. Other diseases such as chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can make the blood vessel wall sensitive, increase the permeability and cause bleeding.
