Parents must read! Please keep this vaccination reminder!

The birth of a new life brings more laughter and joy to a family, but it also means that parents need to take on more responsibilities, one of which is that new parents need to take their children to get vaccinated. Vaccination is the "health guardian" of every child, especially for newborn babies whose immune systems are immature and more susceptible to invasion by foreign pathogens. According to the Chinese Immunization Program Vaccine Child Immunization Program, children at different ages need to receive different types of vaccines. So, what should parents pay attention to every time they go for vaccination? Let's take everyone on a "cloud tour" of the vaccination process to answer everyone's questions.

What should parents prepare before going out?

There are three main preparations before going out: first, clarify the time and place of vaccination; second, prepare the necessary documents and materials for vaccination; third, prepare the things that children need when going out, and comfort and care for them. (1) Find a suitable vaccination clinic, preferably one that is close to home and familiar to you. You can find the contact information of the vaccination clinic through the official website of the health administration department, map navigation, etc., contact the clinic to find out the vaccination working hours and whether an appointment is required, and then go at the agreed time. (2) Organize relevant files and materials, including the child's vaccination certificate and health record, and the valid identity documents of the parents and children. If you have not yet obtained the vaccination certificate or have lost it, contact the vaccination clinic first to inquire about the specific application process and materials, and then set off after you have prepared everything. (3) Before going out, dress your child in loose and easy-to-put-on-and-off clothes. (4) You can bring some snacks, toys, books, etc. The vaccination process may take some time. At the same time, children will be nervous about the injection during the vaccination, and they need some auxiliary means to relieve and comfort them.

When arriving at the vaccination clinic, what should parents and children do?

(1) After arriving at the vaccination clinic at the scheduled time, everyone should pay attention to the specific vaccination process of the clinic. At the informed consent registration counter, register your information according to the staff's requirements, clarify the type of vaccine, dosage, vaccination site and other information for this vaccination, and complete the signing of the informed consent form. (2) At the registration or consultation counter, everyone should truthfully inform the staff of their child's health status and medical history, such as acute attacks of diseases such as fever and diarrhea, and previous severe allergies, to help the staff determine whether the vaccine can be administered this time. (3) After registration and consultation, everyone can wait for the staff to arrange to enter the vaccination area for vaccination. During the waiting period, it is necessary to prepare the child psychologically and relieve the child's fear and tension.

How should we cooperate with the doctor during vaccination?

Before vaccination, you should cooperate with the doctor to conduct "three checks, seven comparisons and one verification". You should explain your child's health status and medical history to the vaccinating doctor again, and cooperate with the doctor to check the contraindications for vaccination. Confirm your child's name and age with the doctor, and check the name, specification, dosage, vaccination site, expiration date and other information of the vaccine that the doctor takes out. (2) During vaccination, you should cooperate with the doctor to comfort your child and ensure the safety of your child's vaccination. During the vaccination process, give your child comfort and psychological support. You can chat with your child, use topics that interest your child or positive verbal encouragement, or use toys to distract your child and relieve your child's tension. (3) After the vaccination is completed, use a clean cotton swab to press the needle hole for a few minutes to stop bleeding and prevent drug leakage. Avoid rubbing the vaccination site when pressing.

What should we pay attention to after vaccination?

(1) After vaccination, children must stay in the vaccination clinic for 30 minutes before leaving. (2) Children should not take a bath on the day of vaccination. Keep the injection site clean and dry to prevent local infection. (3) After vaccination, some children may experience fever or redness, swelling, heat and pain at the injection site. Don’t worry too much. This is normal and usually recovers in 2-3 days. However, if a high fever of ≥38.5℃ or a fever that persists for several days occurs, go to the hospital for examination and contact the vaccination clinic to report.
