These methods are not effective for hangover

1. Alcohol remedies - can't help with alcohol

When it comes to hangover cures, the first thing that comes to mind for many people is hangover cures. In fact, some so-called hangover cures can make people feel sober and comfortable because they contain diuretic, analgesic and stimulant ingredients, which can relieve the symptoms of drunkenness to a certain extent, but they cannot really "cure" alcohol. In other words, hangover cures cannot help the body metabolize alcohol!

2. Carbonated drinks – can’t help you get rid of alcohol

Using carbonated drinks to sober up not only does not reduce the alcohol concentration, but the carbon dioxide will accelerate the body's absorption of alcohol, causing discomfort after drinking. On the other hand, functional drinks contain caffeine, electrolytes, and taurine, which will increase the burden on the heart under the influence of alcohol, causing adverse reactions such as chest tightness and palpitations.

3. Strong tea - can't help with hangovers

Strong tea contains theophylline, which can help the kidneys to play a diuretic role, but it will promote the premature entry of undecomposed acetaldehyde into the kidneys. Alcohol is irritating to the cardiovascular system, and strong tea is also stimulating to the heart. The combination of the two may cause diseases such as arrhythmia.

4. Milk – Can’t Sober You Up

It is rumored that drinking milk can sober you up. In fact, the protein in milk cannot bind to alcohol, but drinking milk before drinking can protect the stomach. If the patient drinks a lot and frequently feels nauseous and vomits, drinking milk at this time may cause a feeling of abdominal distension and aggravate the feeling of vomiting.

5. Yogurt – Can’t Sober You Up

Yogurt cannot sober you up, nor can it reduce the harm of drinking, because alcohol is broken down by the liver, not the stomach!

These are the things that can really reduce the harm of drunkenness

1. Eat more grains before drinking

The alcohol metabolism process consumes a lot of vitamin B1, and grains are rich in vitamin B1. The starch in staple foods will produce glucuronic acid during the metabolism process in the human body, which can reduce the damage of alcohol to the liver; food can protect the stomach and prevent the stomach from direct contact with alcohol. Therefore, do not drink on an empty stomach.

2. Avoid mixing with carbonated drinks or other alcoholic beverages

Carbonated drinks contain carbon dioxide, which will accelerate the body's absorption of alcohol. Different types of alcohol have different ingredients and contents. When multiple alcohols are mixed, it is easy to cause headaches and drunkenness.

3. Eat green leafy vegetables and soy products when drinking

Green leafy vegetables contain vitamins and antioxidants, and soy products are rich in lecithin, all of which can protect the liver.

4. Drink more water and urinate more often

Drinking more water and urinating more often are beneficial to the metabolism of alcohol. So don't look down on people who go to the toilet after drinking. They are not "incapable", but are actively metabolizing alcohol.

5. Juice hangover

Milk, yogurt, and tea cannot sober you up, but fruit juice can, especially orange juice and apple juice, the fruit acid in them can promote the decomposition of alcohol.

6. Honey water

Honey is rich in fructose, which can promote the decomposition and absorption of alcohol and relieve headache symptoms.

7. Porridge and rice soup

Cereals are rich in B vitamins, which can promote the metabolism of ethanol.

8. Limit your alcohol intake

Don't drink too much, and don't stay drunk. Having said so much, the most effective way to reduce the harm of alcohol is to reduce the amount of alcohol you consume.
