China Academy of Information and Communications Technology: In June 2024, domestic mobile phone shipments reached 24.912 million units, accounting for 88.5% of domestic mobile phones

China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in June 2024. It shows that in June 2024, the domestic market shipped 24.912 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, of which 5G mobile phones were 22.131 million, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%, accounting for 88.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. There were 26 new mobile phone models launched in China, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%, of which 11 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 57.1%, accounting for 42.3% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

The shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones was 22.043 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%, accounting for 88.5% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period ; 26 new models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 30.0%, accounting for 100% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

Smartphone shipments reached 23.841 million units, up 14.3% year-on-year, accounting for 95.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

Looking at the first half of the year as a whole, the domestic market shipped 147 million mobile phones from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%. Among them, 5G mobile phones shipped 124 million units, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%, accounting for 84.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

There were 205 new models launched on the market, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%, of which 109 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 28.2%, accounting for 53.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

The shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones reached 124 million units, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%, accounting for 84.4% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period; 192 new models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, accounting for 93.7% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
