Canalys: Apple sold 13.3 million smartphones in China in Q1 2023, with a market share of 20%

Market research firm Canalys released a report on the Chinese smartphone market in the first quarter of this year. As predicted before, Apple still ranks first. The report shows that Apple sold 13.3 million units in the first quarter of this year, with a market share of 20%, a 3% drop compared to the same period last year. OPPO and vivo followed closely behind, with shipments of 12.6 million and 11.3 million units, and market shares of 19% and 17% respectively, a 10% and 7% drop compared to the same period last year.

Honor and Xiaomi are also among the top five, with shipments of 9.7 million and 8.5 million units and market shares of 14% and 13%.

It should be noted that the reason why OPPO has such a high share is mainly because OnePlus phones are included in it, while Realme is listed separately. Judging from the Chinese people’s choice of mobile phones, iPhone is still the first choice.

What is more interesting is that the other options have increased by 19% compared to last year, which is mainly due to Huawei. Statistically speaking, Huawei's mobile phone sales have increased by 41% compared to the same period last year, crushing all competitors.
