A recent study shows that nearly 50% of American consumers surveyed own Apple's AirPods or Beats headphone products. The study, conducted by Statista, surveyed 4,220 adults aged 18 to 64 and asked them about their headphone usage. The results showed that 34.4% of the respondents responded that they were using Apple AirPods. Although Statista's survey did not further break down the AirPods headphone product line, what is more interesting is that the brand with the second highest share is Beats by Dre (15.3%), also owned by Apple. Following closely behind are Bose (12.5%) and Samsung (12.2%), JBL and Sony are tied at 11.4%, followed by Skullcandy (8.4%) and LG Electronics (7.0%). It is reported that Apple launched the first generation of AirPods true wireless headphones in 2016, and subsequently provided more high-end AirPods Pro and over-ear AirPods Max headphones.
