SensorTower: Top 10 most downloaded mobile apps worldwide in August 2020

Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data shows that Douyin and its overseas version TikTok ranked first in the global mobile app (non-game) download list with more than 63.3 million downloads in August this year, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2019. Indonesia is the market with the largest number of downloads this period, accounting for 11%; followed by Brazil, accounting for 9%. (Note: Downloads are only counted for App Store and Google Play, not including third-party Android markets in China and other regions.)

ZOOM ranked second with 52.2 million downloads, 22.2 times the same period last year. Downloads from India accounted for 25%, followed by the United States, which accounted for 19.5%.

The other three apps in the top five are Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
