GWI: Currently, 1/3 of Internet users use social networks to search for product or company information

Currently, one-third of Internet users use social networks to search for products or corporate information, which explains why many brands want to provide consumers with automated, 24-hour services on social networks.

As GWI predicted, this trend is closely related to age. More than 35% of Internet users aged 16 to 24 use social networks as a search channel, compared to less than one-fifth of Internet users aged 55 to 64. In terms of regions, Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa are the most likely to use social media to search for products and company information.
