Brazilian young people and women prefer social networks

Brazilian young people and women are much more fond of social networks than other social groups.

According to the latest research, the vast majority of smartphone users who download social and chat apps on their smartphones are women.

The proportion of female Instagram users is also the highest. According to data from November 2015, two-thirds of smartphone users have Instagram as the social network downloaded on their home screens, followed by Twitter and finally Facebook.

Twitter's gender breakdown is close to being balanced, but women still make up 57% of smartphone users who use Twitter. But users of different ages have different requirements for social platform features. The number of users in the 16 to 29 and 30 to 49 age groups is the same. The same is true for YouTube, WhatsApp, and Facebook. There are very few users over 50 who have these four platforms on their home screen, and there are a lot of users in the 30 and 40 age groups. But for some other platforms, they are more inclined to the younger group, and the vast majority of them have Instagram on their home screen, such as young people under 30.

Snapchat is used more by young people, with 82% of mobile phone users between the ages of 16 and 29 using it. Most of the main application interfaces are popular in Brazil, with WhatsApp being the most common. Facebook is also a big choice, at 69.4%, and Instagram at 38.9%.
