Millennial Media: 1/5 of traffic comes from non-mobile devices

According to Millennial Media's November Mobile Mix report, in Q3 2012, 1/5 of mobile platform traffic came from non-mobile devices, higher than 19% in Q2; smartphones continued to lead the traffic market, with 3/4 of traffic coming from smartphones. As a result of the increase in the proportion of traffic from smartphones and non-mobile connected devices, the share of feature phones dropped to only 5% in Q3, far lower than 14% in Q3 a year ago.

Android's display share is 52%, 6 percentage points higher than 46% in Q2; iOS's share is relatively stable at 34%; BlackBerry's share dropped from 15% in Q2 to 8% in Q3, which is very close to Windows' 5%.

In Q3, Apple's display share accounted for 31%, Samsung's was 24%, RIM's was 7.9%, HTC's was 8%, and Motorola's was 5.9%.

The gaming category continued to lead in impression share.

The top three tablets on the platform are Apple's iPad, Samsung's Galaxy and Amazon's Kindle Fire
