Tip 1

Be sure to do a preoperative examination in advance

In order to achieve customized and personalized correction, myopia surgery has more than 18 strict preoperative examinations, including basic medical optometry, intraocular pressure, corneal thickness, detailed corneal morphology, and fundus conditions. It can be said that the examination of myopia surgery is a general physical examination for the eyes, which fully excludes various eye diseases. The examination takes about 2 hours.

Special reminder: stop wearing soft contact lenses for 1 week, stop wearing hard contact lenses and soft contact lenses with astigmatism for 3 weeks, and stop wearing orthokeratology lenses for 3 months; fundus examination and eye examination require mydriasis, so when going to the hospital for examination, be sure not to drive or ride a bike to the hospital by yourself.

Preoperative examination and surgery cannot be done on the same day. During the preoperative examination, fundus examination and optometry are performed by dilating the pupil. Sufficient rest time is required to restore the eyes to normal state. In addition, according to relevant national standards, antibiotic eye drops need to be applied for 1-3 days according to the doctor's order before myopia surgery to prevent infection.

Choose the surgery that suits you

Laser myopia surgery is relatively more familiar to everyone. Laser is used to cut the cornea, so as to say goodbye to myopia and have clear naked eye vision. The principle is actually to make a pair of "concave lenses" on the cornea, which is the same as the principle of frame glasses.

Lens implantation myopia surgery is to implant an ICL lens to achieve high-definition vision. In layman's terms, this ICL lens is like a pair of ultra-thin contact lenses that are implanted in the eye and can be used for life and can be removed or replaced in the future.

It is not "I choose whichever I want" or "I choose whichever I like", but I choose the one that is suitable first and then the one I like. No matter how much you like this type of surgery, if your eye conditions do not meet the requirements, you can only choose another one.

Surgery is not recommended if the preoperative examination is not passed

Many people think that they can have myopia surgery whenever they want. This view is wrong. Any surgery has contraindications. Our country also has clear standards for whether or not myopia surgery can be performed.

Keratoconus or other types of corneal expansion, severe dry eyes, active eye lesions or infections, severe eye adnexal lesions, uncontrolled glaucoma, cataracts that affect vision, etc. In addition, myopic patients whose corneal thickness does not meet the requirements are not suitable for laser myopia surgery. They can check whether ICL lens implantation can be selected to correct vision. People with severe fundus diseases are also not suitable for ICL lens implantation.
