According to statistics, the annual incidence of oral cancer is 1.06/100,000-1.69/100,000, and approximately 10,000 people die from oral cancer each year.

Research reports show that the risk of oral cancer for betel nut chewers is 15 to 20 times higher than that of ordinary people. The oral cancer incidence rate for men in Hunan, my country is 6 to 8 per 100,000 people, of which the rate for betel nut chewers is as high as 38%. (There are also research reports that the rate is as high as 86%)

From this, we can also deduce that the rate of death from oral cancer due to long-term betel nut chewing is at least around 2%, or 1/50.

Some people may think that 2% is not a very high rate, but if it really happens to you, it is 100%.

In fact, the most terrifying thing about oral cancer is not its mortality rate, but the long-term pain after surgery.

In recent years, according to the relevant work requirements of the State Administration for Market Regulation that "betel nut should no longer be regulated as a food", strict guidance has been adopted for betel nut, but the bad habit of chewing betel nut for a long time is still rampant among people in some areas. Compared with them, those who beautify betel nut and sell it deceptively need to be more vigilant and eliminated.
