Are you type A or type B? If you are the former, take care of your heart

An elderly friend told Huazi that he had several old friends who had similar living conditions, diets, and hobbies. They all had high blood pressure and were taking medication to control their blood pressure. Among them, those with good tempers were in good health, while two people with bad tempers were diagnosed with coronary heart disease in the past two years.

Hua Zi said that personality is one of the risk factors for coronary heart disease, but it is easily overlooked. There are related studies in the United States and China, and Type A personality accounts for more than 70% of the number of coronary heart disease patients.

1. People's personalities can be divided into two types: A and B. American cardiologist Friedman and behavioral medicine scientist Rosenro divide people's personalities into two types: A and B.

People with type A personality are in a hurry to do things. They start another thing before finishing one thing. They are also very competitive and aggressive. They are not afraid of difficulties and are brave enough to achieve their goals. They usually speak quickly and forcefully. They are easily excited, angry, impatient, and neglect to rest and take care of themselves.

Type B people, in contrast to Type A, do things slowly and leisurely. They go with the flow, don't compete with others, and pay attention to giving themselves time to relax, combining work and rest. They are soothing and good at self-regulation.

2. Ambitious people are more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease. Two scientists studied the relationship between a large number of psychological activities and diseases, and found that among heart disease patients, the majority were people with sharp minds and ambitious minds.

The two designed an experiment in which people with type A personalities and people with type B personalities were asked to answer questions together, and the person who answered more correct questions would be rewarded.

When people with type A personality take tests seriously, they are nervous and excited. If they answer correctly, they are elated, but if they answer incorrectly, they are very depressed. People with type B personality, on the other hand, are relaxed and calm when taking tests. They are calm whether they answer correctly or incorrectly.

When the experimenters were examined, it was found that people with type A personality had higher blood pressure and heart rate during the test, and their blood levels of adrenaline, norepinephrine and other hormones that cause vasoconstriction were significantly increased. However, people with type B personality had relatively stable related indicators with little change.

Subsequent studies have also confirmed that human emotions can affect endocrine regulation. When people encounter stimuli that cause mental tension, their sympathetic nerves become excited, leading to increased secretion of catecholamine hormones. In addition to increasing blood pressure and heart rate, it can also cause lipid metabolism disorders, increase blood coagulation, and easily cause coronary artery contraction and spasm, leading to cardiovascular disease.

3. Controlling your temper can protect your heart. The direct factors that lead to coronary heart disease are hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and smoking. A bad temper is not a direct factor that leads to coronary heart disease, but a bad temper will keep people in a state of tension for a long time, causing nerve regulation disorders and various hormone imbalances, which will accelerate the progression of cardiovascular diseases.

In fact, studying and working hard will not increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, but an overly competitive mentality will make you hostile and aggressive towards others, thus affecting your heart health. Therefore, you should consciously control your temper, reduce your competitive mentality, and don't be impatient when encountering things, so that you can protect your heart.

In summary, people with bad tempers are more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease than those with good tempers. People with potential risk of cardiovascular disease should not only control the "three highs" and maintain a healthy lifestyle, but also pay attention to controlling their temper. When you encounter something that makes you angry, don't "get angry" immediately, but take three deep breaths first, give yourself more time to think, and don't argue over unnecessary things. It's not worth it to harm your health.
