Huazi's friend, 31 years old, always wakes up suddenly when sleeping, and then has difficulty falling asleep again. She feels groggy during the day, has difficulty concentrating, and always has problems at work. She told Huazi that she also feels uncomfortable in her heart and has poor digestion. Is she suffering from a serious illness? However, she went to the hospital for a checkup, but no problems were found. Huazi told her friend that she was advised to do a self-examination based on the symptoms of anxiety disorder. If most of her symptoms matched those of her friend, she probably had anxiety disorder and needed to see a psychologist for anti-anxiety treatment. 1. 4 symptoms of anxiety disorder 1. Psychological abnormalities in alertness: Unexplained nervousness, generalized worry and anxiety, difficulty falling asleep, easy awakening after falling asleep, irritability, restlessness, lack of concentration, sensitivity to noise, and the habit of thinking the worst about one's own affairs. 2. Abnormal behavioral symptoms: When faced with problems or challenges, they are unwilling to answer questions directly and always take escaping and evasive behaviors. They may have panic attacks, feelings of impending death, suffocation, or even hysterical and out-of-control states. 3. Abnormal muscle control: Symptoms of muscle tension will appear, and there will be many small, purposeless movements, such as rubbing hands and feet, and fidgeting. Excessive muscle tension may cause muscle tension in the chest, neck, shoulders and back, causing discomfort or pain, and may also lead to tension headaches or limb tremors. 4. Abnormalities of the autonomic nervous system: Anxiety disorder can affect multiple systems including digestion, respiration, circulation, and urination, causing upper abdominal discomfort, bloating, and diarrhea; difficulty breathing, hyperventilation, or feeling like you can’t breathe; it can cause palpitations, chest discomfort, and abnormal heart rhythm; frequent and urgent urination; men may experience erectile dysfunction, and women may experience irregular menstruation. 2. Why does anxiety disorder occur? If the above symptoms occur, further diagnosis by a doctor is required, because gastric ulcers, heart disease, and lung disease can also cause similar symptoms. However, substantial diseases usually only cause symptoms of a single system, while anxiety disorder can cause symptoms of multiple systems to appear at the same time. Anxiety disorders usually have obvious causes. The most common cause is stress from life and work, and a lack of ways to release stress. Stressful events such as poor interpersonal relationships, emotional setbacks, or illness of relatives can also lead to anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders have a certain genetic tendency, or bad experiences in childhood may lead to the occurrence of anxiety disorders in adulthood. Finding the triggering factors and eliminating them is the most effective way to cure anxiety disorder. 3. Correctly deal with anxiety We need to correctly understand anxiety. Physical discomfort is not caused by organ tissue lesions, but because anxiety causes nerves to send wrong signals, making our brain feel that we are "sick", but we are not. Therefore, the way to relieve anxiety is to "convince yourself" that you are not sick. We need to relax, divert our attention, cultivate our own interests and hobbies, and learn to relieve stress. For example, choose a musical instrument or a sport, indulge yourself in it, and forget about anxiety. Adjust your work and life, try to tell humorous jokes to friends and colleagues, and make yourself an interesting person. Also, eat healthy, don't stay up late, exercise until you are exhausted, and then go to sleep. If you can't adjust yourself, you need to receive psychological treatment. Let the psychologist help you change your irrational cognition and solve your "mental illness", so as to treat the physical symptoms caused by psychological problems. At the same time, you can also use anti-anxiety drugs under the guidance of a doctor to quickly control the symptoms. One thing to note is that 100% of people with depression will also have anxiety, and they need to use antidepressants to be effectively treated. Drug treatment for anxiety and depression requires long-term persistence, and usually it takes more than 2 years of drug treatment before they can be cured and stopped. To sum up, anxiety is a common human emotion. Moderate anxiety can improve alertness and make work and study more efficient, but severe anxiety can affect our physical and mental health and requires timely treatment. When we encounter anxiety disorders, we must correctly understand, face them calmly, and control them scientifically. When we cannot control them, we must seek help from a doctor in time and use medication. I am pharmacist Huazi, welcome to follow me and share more health knowledge. |
