Drinking coffee regularly can prevent chronic liver disease! A study of 500,000 people in the UK

A recent British study of nearly 500,000 people found that regular consumption of all types of coffee, whether ground, instant or decaffeinated, was associated with a lower risk of chronic liver disease and other types of liver disease and a lower risk of death.

Studies show that compared with people who do not drink coffee regularly, regular coffee drinkers have a 21% lower risk of chronic liver disease, a 20% lower risk of chronic liver disease or fatty liver disease, and a 49% lower risk of death from chronic liver disease.

The protective effect was most pronounced in people who consumed ground coffee, the study showed.

This may be due to the high concentrations of cafestol and kahweol in ground coffee, which have previously been shown in animal studies to be beneficial for chronic liver disease.

In addition, the study also shows that drinking 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day has the greatest benefits.

The study included 384,818 coffee drinkers and 109,767 non-coffee drinkers, with the average coffee drinker drinking two cups a day.

During a median follow-up of 10.7 years, 3,600 people developed chronic liver disease, 301 people died from chronic liver disease, 5,439 people developed chronic liver disease or fatty liver degeneration, and 184 people developed liver cancer.

Another study in this journal found that drinking coffee in moderation can help prevent stroke, and the risk of stroke is lowest when drinking 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day.
