The International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) proposed to designate March of each year as "International Myeloma Awareness Month" to encourage medical staff, patients and related caregivers to take action and enhance society's awareness of myeloma.

Generally speaking, when patients have long-term osteoporosis and unrelieved bone pain, they may not think of going to the hematology department, but usually choose to go to the pain department or orthopedics department, which will delay treatment because the cause of these symptoms may be multiple myeloma. At present, with the continuous popularization and application of new clinical drugs and new schemes, while the efficacy has been significantly improved, more and more multiple myeloma patients have improved their remission rate and prolonged their survival.
