The return of menopause has its reasons and is not accidental! Normal women will experience menopause when they reach a certain age. Rule out the possibility of pregnancy, this is a normal physiological phenomenon caused by ovarian dysfunction and estrogen deficiency in the body. Menopause is a physiological stage that every woman must go through, which occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. However, some women may experience "menstrual relapse", which means that they have menstruation again after menopause. Is this a sign of returning to youth? Or is it a sign of illness? Menstrual period restarts? Beware of endometrial cancer! Menstruation after menopause is not a sign of returning to youth, but may be a warning of endometrial cancer. Endometrial cancer is one of the three most common gynecological malignancies, accounting for about 20%-30% of gynecological malignancies. In China, the incidence of endometrial cancer ranks second, second only to cervical cancer. The average age of onset of endometrial cancer is 60 years old, and it is more common in women who are about to enter menopause or after menopause. However, about 5% of patients are diagnosed before the age of 40. In recent years, the incidence of endometrial cancer in young women has continued to increase, which must be taken seriously. Cervical cancer can currently be prevented by vaccines, but endometrial cancer has not yet been developed with preventive drugs. If a postmenopausal woman develops endometrial cancer, the most obvious early symptom is postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. However, this bleeding is different from normal menstruation because the amount of bleeding is not large, there is no regular pattern, and sometimes it is pink bloody discharge. If a premenopausal woman has irregular vaginal bleeding, she should also be alert to the risk of endometrial cancer. It is recommended to see a gynecologist as soon as possible to rule out endometrial cancer in time. Ultrasound is currently a more commonly used examination method, and MRI examinations will be more accurate. If endometrial cancer is initially suspected, hysteroscopy or diagnostic curettage is required to confirm the diagnosis. Risk factors for endometrial cancer 1. Overweight 2. Infertility 3. Early menarche and late menopause 4. Diabetes 5. Hypertension 6. Polycystic ovary syndrome 7. Ovarian tumors 8. Exogenous estrogen Among them, being overweight is one of the most common high-risk factors. Studies have shown that for every 1 unit increase (kg/㎡) in body mass index (BMI), the relative risk of endometrial cancer increases by 9%. This is because fat is the "raw material" of estrogen, and estrogen is indeed the "nutrient" of tumors. Excessive fat can cause abnormal estrogen levels, thereby causing endometrial cancer. In addition, we should also be wary of some skin care products and maintenance products that contain estrogen, as long-term use can easily lead to estrogen excess. Can endometrial cancer be cured? Although endometrial cancer is a gynecological malignancy, due to the advancement of early diagnosis technology, most patients can be cured as long as they are discovered and treated in time. If the disease has developed to the late stage, the difficulty of cure will be greatly increased. The treatment of endometrial cancer is mainly through surgical removal of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and possible metastatic lymph nodes. Most patients with early endometrial cancer can be treated through laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, which is not only effective, but also less traumatic, faster recovery, and will not leave a large incision scar. There are also a small number of patients with risk factors who need radiotherapy, chemotherapy and endocrine therapy after surgery to consolidate the therapeutic effect. The prognosis of early endometrial cancer is relatively good, with a survival rate of more than 90% within 5 years. However, risk factors such as advanced age, overweight, hypertension, and diabetes can make surgery for endometrial cancer more difficult. Multidisciplinary collaboration is required to perform surgery on such patients and those with severe comorbidities. Elderly parents will be concerned about us who are far away. As children, even if you are busy at work, you should pay attention to their health. Take some time to arrange a physical examination for your parents to understand their physical condition. Remember to go home often to visit them and show your filial piety! |
