Treatment of acute mastitis during lactation

Treatment of acute mastitis during lactation

Many pregnant mothers think they can finally take a break after the birth of their newborn. However, during the breastfeeding period, the mothers' bodies have not yet returned to normal and are still relatively weak, so they still need to be more careful, especially the sensitive breasts, which may be accidentally infected with gynecological diseases, such as acute mastitis and breast cancer during breastfeeding. This is not a joke, this is a very serious topic. We all know that breast cancer is a disease that occurs 99% in women and has always been a concern for everyone. Therefore, women should take good care of it, and pay attention to its every move even during pregnancy!

What is the solution for subacute mastitis during lactation?

There are three main treatment methods for subacute mastitis, including physical therapy, antibiotic treatment and surgical treatment:

1. Physical therapy. It is suitable for early treatment of subacute mastitis to promote the disappearance or localization of inflammation. Ice compress treatment can reduce local temperature, reduce capillary extravasation, and ease the transmission desire of the abducens nerve. It has the effects of relieving pain, reducing swelling, inhibiting the spread of inflammation, and reducing milk secretion. Hot compress treatment: 3 days after the onset of subacute mastitis, some diseases showed infiltration and extravasation changes. At this time, hot compress can increase the blood flow of some tissues, promote the chemotaxis of leukocytes, enhance the phagocytic function of leukocytes, promote the absorption, localization and vaporization of inflammatory exudates, and have the effects of analgesia and anti-inflammatory.

2. Antibiotic treatment. Penicillin is the preferred treatment for subacute mastitis. The dosage can be determined according to the symptoms, 800,000 U per intramuscular injection, 2-3 times/d. It can also be administered intravenously at 8 million U.

3. Surgical treatment: innovative laser drilling. After determining the location of the cyst, a hole is made at the most obvious position of the cyst to suck out the pus, and then antibiotics are delivered into the abscess cavity. Then the cyst incision and drainage method is carried out to achieve the purpose of treating subacute mastitis. This method is less traumatic, easy for patients to accept, and also avoids the pain of changing dressings.

Mothers suffering from mastitis should choose the treatment method suitable for their actual situation according to their own conditions. At the same time, they should choose a reliable hospital for treatment to ensure that the treatment of acute mastitis can achieve good results.
