During the epidemic, eight points should be paid attention to when cleaning and disinfecting the bathroom

How should toilets be cleaned and disinfected during the epidemic? Recently, Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced at a press conference on the prevention and control of the new coronavirus pneumonia in Beijing that during the epidemic prevention and control period, the cleaning and disinfection of toilets, especially public toilets, should be strengthened to reduce the risk of the spread of the new coronavirus. The eight aspects should be done well.

First, keep the bathroom well ventilated. Open the windows of the family bathroom for ventilation 2 to 3 times a day, at least 30 minutes each time; bathrooms without windows should install exhaust fans with good performance and use them for a certain period of time every day. Public bathrooms should always maintain good ventilation.

Second, we should strengthen the cleanliness and sanitation of the bathroom. We should clean up the garbage in the bathroom in time, keep the environment of the bathroom clean and hygienic, and pay attention to keeping the bathroom floor free of water.

The third is to strengthen hand hygiene measures. Public toilets should be equipped with hand sanitizer and other hand-cleaning products; staff should maintain hand hygiene and wash hands at any time or use alcohol-containing quick-drying hand sanitizer. When there are visible contaminants, wash hands with hand sanitizer under running water and then disinfect.

Fourth, strengthen the disinfection of toilet surfaces. Use 500mg/L to 1000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant to wipe or spray the toilet floor or walls for disinfection. The disinfection sequence is from outside to inside, and the action time should be no less than 30 minutes.

Fifth, strengthen the disinfection of bathroom surfaces. Focus on surfaces that are frequently touched by hands, such as door handles and faucets. Use 500mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant, 75% alcohol or other disinfectants that can be used for surface disinfection to wipe and disinfect. After 30 minutes, wipe clean with water.

Sixth, strengthen the disinfection of sanitary ware such as mops and rags. They should be used in dedicated areas and for dedicated items to avoid cross infection. After use, soak them in 1000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for disinfection, rinse them with clean water after 30 minutes, and dry them for storage.

Seventh, strengthen the disinfection of pollutants such as excrement and secretions. Pollutants can be carefully removed with disposable absorbent materials (such as gauze, rags, etc.) dipped in 5000mg/L to 10000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant. Contaminated floors, walls and other surfaces around them that may be contaminated can be wiped or sprayed with 1000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes, then wiped clean with clean water.

Eighth, strengthen the disinfection of toilet facilities such as squatting pits and toilets. When there are obvious pollutants, the pollutants must be cleaned first, and then 500mg/L to 1000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant can be used to wipe or spray disinfectant. After 30 minutes, the toilet needs to be wiped clean with clean water.
