On February 20, the Wandoujia team issued an announcement stating that due to business adjustments, the PC version of Wandoujia will stop providing online services starting from February 28, 2020.

That is to say, the Android phone management functions of Wandoujia PC, such as content transfer, resource download, backup, etc., will not be available after February 28.

The iOS resources and services of Wandoujia are provided by PP Assistant, but PP Assistant also announced on February 14 that the iOS and iOS PC versions of the products will be offline on February 28.

Why was Wandoujia removed from the shelves?

The main reason is that it does not meet the needs of people today.

After Baidu acquired 91 Assistant, Alibaba wanted to acquire Wandoujia, but was rejected by Wang Junyu. Then 360 launched 360 Mobile Assistant, UC acquired PP Assistant, and Tencent launched App Store. Under this pressure, Wandoujia fell into trouble. Although Alibaba acquired it at a low price, it still couldn't save it.

In the past, because the Google App Market was not available for domestic Android phones, application installation basically needed to go through third-party channels, and some even required downloading APK files directly from the official website of the application developer, so third-party applications such as Wandoujia had their own corresponding markets. But now, several major domestic mobile phone brands have built-in their own application markets. In addition, in the past, everyone did not have enough data, and these third-party apps could be installed and downloaded without data as long as the phone was connected to the computer, and the files in the phone could be managed on the computer, but now it is not so cumbersome at all.

As iOS features become more and more abundant, apps in the App Store become cheaper, and payment methods become more convenient, jailbreaking has become an increasingly unfamiliar term. As copyrights become more and more standardized and users become more aware of paying, various assistant tools have also lost their living space.

How the Wandoujia app fell into decline

The decline of Wandoujia is actually mainly due to the fact that domestic mobile phone manufacturers have been building their own Android stores better and better.

At the beginning of the Android system, domestic mobile phones did not know how to make their own customized ROMs. At that time, Huawei and ZTE used native systems. We all know that the usability of the previous native Android system was not high. Even the installation of software required installing them one by one by ourselves. Therefore, a convenient store became a very urgent need for us.

The emergence of Wandoujia met the needs of most people. First of all, the software sources in Wandoujia were very rich, covering almost all the application software on the market at that time, and even some cracked/modified versions of software were also on Wandoujia. Secondly, after the mobile phone obtains ROOT permissions, it can be authorized to Wandoujia to allow it to be automatically installed without interruption. The rich software resources plus the automatic installation and no-disturbance mode made Wandoujia very popular.

Later, HTC Sense, MIUI, LeWa and other customized ROMs led other domestic mobile phone manufacturers to customize their own ROMs, such as Huawei's EMUI, Meizu's Flyme, etc. In these systems, manufacturers integrated their own software stores and added some convenient functions to the stores, making Wandoujia no longer so indispensable to users. Slowly, coupled with the Baidu and Wandoujia incident, and Wandoujia was gradually replaced by manufacturers' own stores, it faded out of the public eye.
