Why does the energy-saving lamp flicker after it is turned off?

Energy-saving lamps are a type of light bulb commonly used in homes. Energy-saving lamps can directly replace incandescent lamps and consume less electricity than incandescent lamps, so they are vigorously promoted by the country. So why can energy-saving lamps light up normally, but then go out and light up again in the middle of the day?

Why does the energy-saving lamp turn off and then on again?

This is a common phenomenon

1. The live and neutral wires are connected incorrectly

The normal wiring method is: the live wire passes through the switch and then connects to one end of the lighting lamp, and the neutral wire directly connects to the other end of the lighting lamp. If these two wires are connected in reverse, flickering will occur after turning off the light.

2. The ballast or lamp is damaged

If this problem occurs suddenly, it means it has nothing to do with the circuit. In most cases, the ballast is broken, and in some cases, the lamp is broken. You can try replacing the lamp first, which is relatively simple. If it still flickers, it means the ballast is damaged.

3. Voltage is too low

You can turn on other lights and observe. If other lights are also flashing, it is likely caused by low voltage.

4. Poor contact

If the flickering is irregular, it is probably caused by poor contact of the lighting switch, ballast wiring, or lamp tube, and the circuit needs to be retightened.

Why does the energy-saving lamp still flash after it is turned off?

Since the power rectifier capacitor is not connected to a large resistor and the resistor is too large, when the power is turned off, the electricity on the capacitor is slowly released, and when it is almost discharged, the light will flash. In addition, the switch only turns off the ground wire. In addition, the inductive accumulation caused by humidity is released because of the high-sensitivity fluorescent principle of the lamp.

The luminescence mechanism of energy-saving lamps is that electrons or some kind of ions bombard fluorescent materials to produce electric light sources. Unlike incandescent bulbs, which heat metal wires to the point of glowing to obtain light, the luminescence mechanism of the former has been determined. As long as there is energy to excite fluorescent materials, there is a possibility of luminescence. For example, first place the damaged energy-saving lamp in an environment with a stronger light source, and then quickly and thoroughly avoid the strong light source and place it in a dark environment. At this time, the energy-saving lamp will emit a faint light. This is the excitation of the light source!

Which one saves more electricity: energy-saving lamps or LED lamps

In terms of working efficiency, high-efficiency fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps and high-power LED lamps over 20W are similar. The working efficiency of LEDs below 20W is higher than that of ordinary fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps (most of which are ordinary fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps below 20W).

However, the service life of LED lamps is better, about 5 times that of ordinary fluorescent lamps, and it also increases the service life of high-efficiency fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps. LEDs do not contain toxic substances. When operating, the tube energy-saving lamps will break and leak toxic mercury vapor.

For color rendering, LED and fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps can be greater than 0.9. The spectral characteristics are slightly different, but the color rendering of low-cost LED lamps is currently less than that of fluorescent tube energy-saving lamps. LED lighting sources are usually integrated with lamps.
