Why some wines don't make you drunk

Both aldehydes and alcohols are essential components of the flavor of liquor. The difference is that not all aldehydes and alcohols are harmful. For example, formaldehyde can cause blindness, and in severe cases it can be fatal. The amount of aldehydes and alcohols is also an important reason why liquor is intoxicating.

If you get drunk after drinking, it is probably because the quality of the wine is poor. Try to avoid alcohol-blended wine (70% of liquor is alcohol-blended wine!), and choose wine of better quality!

Is it dangerous to turn pale after drinking alcohol?

If your face turns pale after drinking, it is more dangerous. This means that after alcohol enters the body, it cannot be metabolized by alcohol dehydrogenase at the beginning, causing a large amount of ethanol to accumulate in the blood vessels, causing blood vessels to contract and the face to turn pale. This is why many people look fine at the beginning, but lose consciousness after drinking. This is actually alcohol poisoning.

Compared with people who blush easily when drinking, the latter metabolize ethanol faster and can drink more. However, people with these two conditions are not suitable for drinking.

In any case, alcohol eventually needs to be metabolized and excreted from the body. If the enzyme is missing or not active enough, it will ultimately have to rely on the liver's own inactive enzymes to help with metabolism, which increases the burden on the liver.
