However, it should be noted here that the entry of crayfish into the cave does not mean that they must have started to reproduce the next generation, nor does it mean that all crayfish in this season must enter the cave.

First, those crayfish that are not sexually mature will not enter the hole. Crayfish must wait until they are sexually mature to mate and lay eggs, otherwise they will not mate and lay eggs. Therefore, at this time, those crayfish that are not sexually mature must not mate, and naturally they will not enter the hole.

Second, male shrimps will not enter the hole. It is the female shrimps that enter the hole, and male shrimps rarely enter the hole.

How to raise crayfish in winter without freezing to death

1. Feed meat bait. Before the temperature drops to 10 degrees, we need to feed more meat bait to ensure that the crayfish can store enough energy to survive the winter. Because crayfish will not eat again after entering the cave to hibernate, the nutrition before entering the cave must be guaranteed.

2. Deepen the water level. The main purpose of deepening the water level is to ensure the safety of young crayfish. The deep water level can form a natural constant temperature layer at the bottom of the water, which is the best shelter for young crayfish.

3. In winter, you can throw some dry rice straw into the pond. The dry rice can generate a certain temperature when it ferments and decomposes, which can provide shelter for the shrimps that have not entered the hole. However, it should be noted that it must be removed in time after the temperature rises, because it can easily spoil the water.

4. A layer of rice straw or straw can be laid on the pond embankment to protect the crayfish that enter the hole and prevent them from being frozen to death due to ice in the hole.

5. If the pond is frozen for more than three consecutive days, the crayfish pond must be de-iced to prevent the crayfish seedlings from dying due to lack of oxygen.

How to deal with crayfish lack of oxygen

First, quickly circulate the water in and out. Once the shrimp pond is lacking oxygen, the first thing to think of is to break the static state of the water surface (dead water), use the waves of circulating water to open the water tension, let the dissolved oxygen in the air enter the water body using the principle of air pressure, and alleviate the problem of large-scale hypoxia. At the same time, the external water is also rich in dissolved oxygen. When live water enters the pond and dead water leaves the pond, the dead water in the entire pond will circulate and become live water. When the hypoxia problem is not serious, circulating water can solve the problem.

Second, self-circulation in the pond. If the water inflow and outflow are slow and there is no big problem with the bottom environment of the pond, a water pump can be placed in the middle of the shrimp pond, and the outlet hose can be hung with a wooden stake 1 meter above the water surface. Turn on the water pump, and the water will fall from top to bottom, forming large waves and spray, thereby opening up the water tension. This water pump method can be used as a supplementary measure when the internal and external circulation of water inflow and outflow is not enough to solve the problem of hypoxia.

Third, artificial oxygen powder. If the in-and-out circulating water and the internal circulating water are not enough to solve the problem, on this basis, the circulating water is continuously added, and the option of spraying oxygen powder is added to alleviate the problem of crayfish lack of oxygen.

Fourth, spray fruit acid to resist stress. The lack of oxygen in crayfish will cause them to climb up the grass, which will seriously consume the crayfish's physical strength. At this time, in order to reduce the crayfish's own rapid adaptation to the hypoxic water environment, it is also necessary to spray Yangsheng Jieduling (VC, fruit acid to resist stress) to replenish physical strength and restore physical fitness. In the case that the water body cannot quickly restore the basic dissolved oxygen index, there is enough physical strength to resist and adapt to the low oxygen water body.
