What is the reason for the rotten roots of Chinese toon sprouts? What should I do if the roots of Chinese toon sprouts rot?

Chinese toon sprouts are a common seasonal vegetable in the north. People often like to grow some at home because of their spleen-strengthening, appetite-stimulating, health-promoting and beauty-enhancing effects. However, sometimes Chinese toon sprouts rot while being planted. So what is the reason for the rotten roots of Chinese toon sprouts? What should we do if the roots of Chinese toon sprouts rot? Let's take a look.

What is the problem of toon buds rotting roots?

Seed problem

The seeds of Chinese toon trees are of poor quality or carry pathogens, which can easily lead to root rot. The seeds of the previous year are stored in low temperatures for a long time, and the potassium, magnesium and zinc in the nutrients will be seriously lost, which will affect the vitality of the seedlings and easily lead to root rot.

Improper temperature and humidity control

In the process of cultivating Chinese toon sprouts, if the temperature is not properly controlled, too high or too low, it will also affect the normal growth and development of Chinese toon sprouts, and root rot will occur. If the humidity is too low, the seed coat is not easy to fall off, and if the humidity is too high, root rot and seedling rot will occur easily.

What to do if the roots of Chinese toon sprouts rot

1. Seed selection: It is best to use high-quality seeds grown that year. Poor-quality seeds will rot and the seedlings will fall over during the planting process.

2. Disinfect the seedling tray by soaking it in 0.1% potassium permanganate solution or 0.1% carbendazim solution for 20 minutes, then rinse it with clean water.

3. Reasonably regulate the temperature. The temperature during the growth of toon sprouts should be controlled between 20 and 30 degrees.

4. Spray water at the right time. After sowing, spray water 2 to 3 times a day according to weather conditions. The amount of water sprayed each time should not be too large, and water should not accumulate in the tray to prevent root rot.

How to Plant Toona Sinensis

Toona sinensis seeds are small, have a hard surface, and are protected by a plasma membrane. If the seeds are directly sown into the soil, the seeds will have poor water absorption and poor germination and emergence rates. Therefore, Toona sinensis seeds generally need to be processed in advance, soaked in warm water, and germinated before sowing.
