What will happen if you paint the wall before the putty is dry?

Foaming

If you paint the wall before the putty on it is completely dry, it will easily cause the moisture in the wall to rush outward, eventually causing the exterior paint to bubble and then peel off.

Uneven

Everyone knows that if the wall putty is not dry, its hardness is very small. Painting directly on it can easily cause unevenness. It would be better if it is sprayed with paint, otherwise it will be particularly ugly after completion.

Uneven color

If the wall putty is not completely dry, when you apply paint, especially in places that are not particularly dry, there will definitely be some uneven depths. This can be seen when the paint is dry.

Yellowing of the wall

There are two ways for moisture in the wall to escape. One is the impact on the paint surface as mentioned above, and the other is to penetrate into the inner wall. The final result is that slight cracks appear on the wall and the wall surface turns yellow.

If time goes by, some mildew spots will appear.

This type of mold spot situation does not occur often, but it will occur in some rainy, humid and unventilated conditions. If the house is decorated and it is always raining, humid, and unventilated for a long time, the moisture will not dissipate and mold spots will appear.

Correct brushing process for wall putty and latex paint

1. The wall putty and latex paint must be applied in accordance with the specified requirements. Do not violate the corresponding operating procedures in order to meet the deadline.

2. When applying putty, we must adopt the three-times scraping method. This has been mentioned before in Home Furnishing Forum. The method is to apply the first coat of putty and wait for it to completely dry before applying the second coat of putty. Wait until the second coat of putty is completely dry before applying the third coat of putty. It must be done over and over again.

3. When applying latex paint, you must wait until the putty is completely dry, then grind the dry putty surface, and completely clean the dust that has been grinded off before applying latex paint. When applying latex paint, it is also recommended that you use the three-pass method to apply latex paint. For the first pass, I recommend that you brush horizontally, that is, use the brush to paint horizontally. For the second pass, it is recommended that you use a vertical brush, and use the method of vertical painting. The third pass is to find large surfaces, and all large surfaces are searched once, and finally completed.

What should we pay attention to in latex paint engineering

The latex paint project includes cement wall base treatment, gypsum board gap treatment, wall inner and outer corner treatment, and the following matters need to be noted:

1. In order to increase the strength and adhesion of the wall cement layer, be sure to first apply the interface agent (wall solid/large barrel 120~200 yuan: large barrel can be used for two rooms, small barrel is basically enough for two rooms);

2. The gaps in the gypsum board should be filled with gypsum powder, and grid tape and kraft paper should be pasted;

3. Grid tape and kraft paper should be pasted on the new and old cement mortar parts after the wall is grooved;

4. Avoid construction when the outdoor temperature is below 5℃, and prohibit construction at 0℃ or below;

5. The moisture content of the wall should be controlled below 10%; ensure that the newly built wall is completely dry before construction;

6. If the wall thickness is more than 3 mm, it should be repaired with gypsum powder first and then putty;

7. The second coat of putty should be applied after the first coat is completely dry;

8. The wall surface for rolling latex paint should be polished and smooth and the loose dust should be blown off;

9. Before rolling latex paint, make sure the putty layer is completely dry. Wait at least 3 days in summer, 7 days in winter, and 3-5 days in other seasons. The drying period can be extended appropriately on rainy days.

10. For latex paint, it is best to roll on the primer once and then roll on the topcoat two to three times;

11. After the latex paint is rolled, it should be completely dry before rolling the next coat;

12. Most painting jobs will provide a free repair opportunity after the installation is completed to deal with problems such as damage and delayed cracking of the lamps. It is recommended to wait until the winter and cracks have completely emerged before repairing;
