Irregular menstruation after medical abortion

Irregular menstruation after medical abortion

The word "abortion" appears more frequently than before, which shows that many women do not take care of their bodies. Nowadays, many women choose the simpler medical abortion surgery. So women should pay attention. They still need to go to a regular hospital for corresponding examinations after medical abortion. So let's take a look at what are the causes of menstrual disorders in women who have medical abortion?

Medical abortion, no menstruation for one month

1. Absence of menstruation after abortion can be said to be a relatively common complication after abortion. It is very common that after a woman has an abortion, the body's growth hormone quickly withdraws, causing endocrine disruption, which in turn affects our menstrual period.

2. Generally speaking, after medical abortion, the uterus and ovaries can usually resume ovulation within 22 days, so it can be estimated that menstruation will start about one month after the abortion. However, a very small number of women experience menstrual irregularities such as prolonged menstruation, irregular cycle duration, and amenorrhea after abortion. This condition usually recovers after 2-3 months. For a few people, it lasts longer, but the duration varies depending on individual physical fitness and the number of days of pregnancy. If it exceeds 3 months, you need to go to the hospital for a check-up.

3. If you have a medical abortion and your period does not come normally, you should pay attention to it. It may be adhesions in the uterine cavity, which makes it impossible to discharge menstruation; or damage to the dermis of the uterine wall causes menstruation to not come; in addition, endocrine disorders, fatigue, postoperative infection, etc. can also cause irregular menstruation. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a follow-up visit immediately. The thickness of the endometrium can be checked by B-ultrasound, and a hysteroscopy can be performed when necessary. If there is endometrial adhesion, it can be separated in multiple directions under hysteroscopy, and then drugs can be used to promote endometrial growth.

What should I do if my period does not come after medical abortion?

1. Cause infection: After women take anti-pregnancy drugs, the fetal sac tissue in the uterus can be discharged on the same day. Sometimes the pregnancy tissue is not fully discharged, the uterine membrane is poorly restored, and vaginal bleeding lasts longer, which can last for 2-3 weeks, or even 1-2 months. Long-term and chronic excessive blood loss can cause anemia and reduce the body's immunity. At this time, the bacteria usually travel back through the vagina and cause inflammation of the endometrium.

2. Incomplete abortion: Some women suffer incomplete abortion after taking the medicine, which affects uterine contraction and the repair of uterine wall wounds, causing a significant increase in vaginal bleeding, which is 2-3 times more than the normal menstrual volume. In severe cases, internal bleeding may occur, causing anemia and shock. At this time, intravenous injections and emergency surgical treatments such as curettage and blood circulation are required.

3. Affecting any normal pregnancy in the future: If a single woman has repeated pregnancies and miscarriages, it may cause repeated damage to the uterine wall. Because the uterine wall is damaged, once they want to have a normal pregnancy, it is easy to develop placenta previa, which can cause prenatal bleeding. Some women also experience habitual miscarriage due to repeated abortions.

4. Menstrual disorders: Anti-pregnancy drugs can inhibit the function of the ovaries, affecting the development of eggs and even the ovulation period. Some women may experience menstrual disorders after medical abortion, which are mainly manifested by a decrease or increase in menstrual cycles and an increase in menstrual flow.
