Where is the female liver located?

Liver is the name of an organ in the human body and one of the five internal organs. It is an organ dominated by metabolism in the vertebrate body, and plays a full role in deoxidation, storage of glycogen, production of metabolic proteins and so on in the human body. The liver also produces bile, which travels through the digestive tract. So, where is the female liver located? Let's have a simple understanding of this issue. I hope the following points will be helpful to everyone!

There is no difference in the position of the liver between genders. In other words, the position of the liver in women is the same as that in men. The liver is the largest actual internal organ in the body, most of it hidden in the right outer edge and deep surface of the hypochondrium, and a small part crosses the midline of the abdomen to the left upper abdomen. The right outer edge of the liver is level with the right flank edge, and the left outer edge can sometimes be touched under the xiphoid process, but it is generally at the midline of the abdomen and does not exceed the center of the line connecting the sternum and the navel. Actually, the left lateral lobe of the liver is mainly located on the left side of the abdomen, while the left inner lobe of the liver and the right half of the liver are located on the right side of the abdomen.

For ordinary people's liver, whether male or female patients, it is located on the right side of the upper abdomen of the body, and part of the liver will extend to the left side of the body. For a normal liver, it is generally not touchable under the right rib margin, and only 1-2 horizontal fingers under the xiphoid process can touch the left liver.

The dimensions of the liver are 25 cm in diameter from top to bottom, 15 cm in diameter from front to back, and 5 cm in diameter from left to right. Its net weight is generally around 1,300 grams. For some rare people, the organs may be inverted. The liver is located on the left side. The diaphragmatic surface of the liver is usually close to the bottom of the diaphragm. The visceral surface of the liver usually has the first portal and the second portal entrances and exits. The liver usually does not have other diseases, and the patient does not feel abnormal discomfort. When patients feel distension or dull pain in the right upper abdomen or back, they should consider the possibility of liver enlargement causing perihepatic disturbance. For some patients with cirrhosis, the liver may also shrink, and further symptoms of decompensated cirrhosis may occur.
