How long after taking Sanlitong can I breastfeed

Sanlitong is a compound preparation, one tablet contains 250 mg of acetaminophen, 150 mg of isopropyl antipyrine, and 50 mg of anhydrous caffeine. Auxiliary materials are: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl carboxymethyl cellulose, indoor formaldehyde whey protein, corn flour, magnesium stearate, light calcium powder, and magnesium chloride. So, does Salidon have any effect on babies during breastfeeding?

The acetaminophen in Sanlitong has antipyretic and analgesic effects. Its mechanism of action is to relieve inflammation by inhibiting the production and release of prostacyclin (PGE2) in the hypothalamic specific immune center. It also has a certain vasodilator effect, inducing sweating to achieve the antipyretic effect. At the same time, it can inhibit the effects of bradykinin, increase the pain threshold and produce analgesic effect. Therefore it is used for headache, toothache, menstrual pain, neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain and fever.

After using Sanlitong during breastfeeding, it reaches a certain concentration in breast milk, but acetaminophen or its metabolites are not found in the urine of breastfeeding babies. The medication is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In addition, the principle of taking medicine during breastfeeding is that some medicines are safe for babies, but some medicines can cause adverse or even very serious reactions, such as physiological jaundice, cyanosis, deafness, liver and kidney damage or vomiting, etc. Therefore, breastfeeding mothers must use medicines with caution.

How long after taking Sanlitong can I breastfeed?

1. It is recommended that you stop breastfeeding for the time being. You should tell your doctor that you are breastfeeding. Do not take medicines at will because most medicines are secreted through breast milk. Therefore, for the health of your child, you should not breastfeed your baby during the medication period. If you are worried that it will affect breastfeeding, you can stop breastfeeding for two days and then resume.

2. Another thing is that if you have a cold or fever, you must avoid infecting your baby. You must wear a mask when you come into contact with your baby and reduce contact with your baby. Because the baby's immune system is relatively low at this stage, it is recommended that the child undergo a stool test, which may be related to factors such as indigestion, and may not be directly related to the mother's medication.

3. The drugs contain a lot of toxins, which are very harmful to the human body. Breastfeeding mothers must read the instructions carefully when taking medicine. Mothers should improve their immunity, do moderate exercise, eat more fruits and vegetables, pay attention to increasing nutrition and eat some colostrum.
