Correct sleeping posture during pregnancy

As the pregnancy weeks increase, women need to pay more attention to their diet and sleeping posture during daily rest. Because the growth of the fetus in the late pregnancy will cause a significant bulge in the woman's abdomen, a suitable sleeping posture is not only beneficial to her own health, but also conducive to the healthy growth and development of the fetus. So what is the appropriate sleeping position during pregnancy?

Women need to pay more attention to various aspects during pregnancy, among which the sleeping position needs to be combined with different weeks of pregnancy. You can refer to the following resting and sleeping positions:

1. In the early stages of pregnancy and when you just enter the second stage of pregnancy, except for sleeping on your stomach, all other sleeping positions are acceptable, and you should choose the one that makes you feel comfortable.

2. As the pregnancy enters the second and third trimesters, you should avoid sleeping in a supine position. As the fetus gradually grows, the supine position will compress the inferior vena cava, which will reduce the return of blood to the heart during pregnancy and reduce the amount of cardiac output. This will make the pregnant woman feel uncomfortable such as panic, and will also cause insufficient blood supply to the embryo. Therefore, it is recommended at this stage that lying on the left side or the right side are both good sleeping positions.

3. When entering the late stage of pregnancy, it is best to sleep on the left side. Because there is a sigmoid colon on the left side of the abdomen, and the uterus is often rotated to the right, sleeping on the left side can partially correct the right rotation of the uterus, which is beneficial to the health during pregnancy.
