How to make the fetal head descend quickly

Choosing natural birth is a way of delivery that many pregnant mothers want. In order to meet the criteria for choosing a natural birth, it is necessary to consider the head position of the fetus in the pelvis. Some people are about to give birth, but when checking, the fetal head is found to be in a very high position, indicating that the fetal head has not entered the pelvis. There are many reasons why the fetal head is delayed in entering the pelvis, among which cephalopelvic disproportion is more likely. In addition to this situation, there is still a possibility that the fetal head position will drop or even enter the pelvis. Pregnant women can try to climb stairs frequently or do some pre-delivery exercises.

1. What is the high vertical position of the fetal head?

The high upright fetal head position refers to the fetal head entering the pelvic canal plane in a rigid and unstretched posture, that is, the sagittal suture of the fetal head falls on the anteroposterior diameter of the pelvic canal plane, and the major fontanelle and the minor fontanelle are located on both sides of the anteroposterior diameter respectively. Its prevalence rate is second only to persistent transverse occipital position and posterior occipital position, and overseas reports account for 0.06-1.6% of the number of pregnant women giving birth; Chinese reports account for 1.08%. The high upright head position is divided into high upright head position and high upright posterior position. The high upright position may be caused by abnormal pelvic shape, especially narrow thickness, or the fetus is too large or too small.

2. Solution

1. If the baby has a high upright head position, a normal pelvis, a small fetus, and good labor force, a trial birth should be given for 6 to 8 hours. If the trial birth is unsuccessful, a caesarean section should be performed.

2. High straight posterior position: once diagnosed, cesarean section should be performed.

3. How can we make the fetal head quickly enter the pelvis?

There are many reasons why the fetus does not enter the pelvis, such as the fetus is too large, the fetal head is not symmetrical with the pelvis, the fetal head position cannot be lowered, the fetal umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck, placenta previa, etc. But there are also pregnant mothers who have not experienced the above reasons, and the fetus still does not enter the calf. In order to speed up the entry of the fetal head into the pelvis, pregnant mothers may wish to do more exercises appropriately:

1. Take a walk

Taking a walk can not only exercise the pelvic muscles, allowing women to complete delivery, but also speed up the process of entering the pelvis. It is recommended that pregnant mothers take a walk once every morning, noon and evening, each time for about 30 minutes. It can also be divided into 3 times, each time for 15-20 minutes. You can talk to your baby while taking a walk and massage yourself. It is recommended to take a walk in parks, residential areas and other places with elegant natural environment, and do not choose areas with heavy traffic and serious environmental pollution.

2. Stair climbing

If the building you live in is not high, it is recommended to choose stairs instead of elevator. This exercise can fully exercise women's leg and waist muscles, which is beneficial to the fetus entering the pelvis and accelerating the progress of delivery. Please note that if you feel tired while climbing the stairs, you must rest immediately, preferably with the company of your loved ones. For some women, if the doctor has told them not to climb stairs, it is best not to do this exercise.

3. Prenatal gymnastics

This increasingly popular exercise can effectively train the pelvis, make the pelvic floor muscles more elastic and flexible, and can promote the smooth entry of the fetus into the pelvis. Pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much if the fetus is slow to enter the pelvis. As long as the baby is healthy and there is no abnormality in the pregnant mother's pelvis, then during delivery, with the compression of the uterus contraction, the baby's head can still enter the birth canal and deliver normally. However, if it is affected by physiological factors, or there is placental abruption or amniotic fluid discharge, it is necessary to prepare for a cesarean section.
