A. Preoperative preparation:

a. Bowel preparation: After admission, laxatives and liquid diet for 3 to 5 days are given, and intestinal sterilizers are also given. A cleansing enema is given the night before surgery. b. Perineal skin preparation: After admission, take a sitz bath every day to keep the perineal skin clean. Shave pubic hair before surgery. c. Preoperative catheterization and indwelling catheter. d. Systemic administration of antibiotics.

B. Postoperative Care:

a. The catheter is left in place for 7-10 days. b. Control bowel movements for ten days. The postoperative diet should be liquid food with little residue, and intestinal motility inhibitors such as opium tincture, belladonna mixture, etc. should be given. Eight days after the operation, the patient can be given honey or other laxatives orally, such as the Chinese patent medicine: Ma Ren Run Chang Wan, to help the patient defecate. c. Absolute bed rest. d. If the dressing is contaminated by urine or feces after surgery, it must be changed promptly. e. Give systemic antibiotics for 5-7 days.
