What is the normal range of NT test value?

Among the examinations during pregnancy, the examination for Down syndrome is indispensable, and one of the examinations for Down syndrome is the NT test. Some pregnant women do not understand the NT test and think it is similar to B-ultrasound examination. Some pregnant women do not know what the normal value of the NT test is. So what is the standard value of the NT test?

1. Because the baby's nt increases slowly with the baby's growth and development, if the nt exceeds 3mm, it may be abnormal, but if the nt is thick, it does not mean that the baby has problems. Some normal babies have more blood, and there will be many babies with a thickness of 2.5~3.5mm, which is completely normal. If the thickness exceeds 6mm, then there is a high risk of Down syndrome and other sex chromosome genetic syndromes and heart problems.

2. Before the lymphatic system of a normal baby is established, a small amount of tissue fluid will accumulate in the lymphatic vessels, which will produce NT. After 14 weeks, the baby's lymphatic system will gradually develop and mature, and the tissue fluid accumulated in the lymphatic vessels will quickly flow to the jugular vein, and the NT will dissipate. The NT test will be carried out between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy. This test is the most accurate test for Down syndrome, and the NT test is also done with special equipment, which is different from the general test.

3. When doing the NT test, pregnant women should maintain a stable mentality, eat some food properly, do not need to hold urine, and let the baby calm down. It is best to do the NT test when the pregnancy is 11 to 13 weeks. If the NT is done after 13 weeks, it will affect the accuracy of the results. Therefore, it is best to make an appointment in advance and go to the hospital for examination at 11 weeks of pregnancy.

The standard value of the NT test does not mean that there is indeed a problem with the fetus, it just means that the probability of a problem is higher. Therefore, pregnant women do not need to worry too much. As long as the fetus is healthy, this test can be passed quickly. However, when there is a problem with the fetus, this test can be very good to understand it, avoid giving birth to a baby with problems, and avoid causing greater harm to the family.

You do not need to be on an empty stomach for this test. You only need to go to a regular hospital for a detailed test between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy. During the test, pregnant women do not need to be too anxious. Just follow the doctor's instructions to get accurate results.
