Hypothalamic anovulation

Hypothalamic anovulation

There are five reasons for hypothalamic pituitary anovulation, namely mental illness or stress, underweight or overweight, excessive exercise, anorexia nervosa and pathological factors.

1. Mental illness or stress and anxiety: Severe mental illness or excessive fear, depression, etc. can cause hypothalamic pituitary anovulation. So how should we solve this kind of situation? For mental illnesses, we should go to the hospital for reliable treatment. As for stress, anxiety and depression, we should learn to adjust our mentality, go shopping with friends, watch movies and so on. I believe this will help relieve stress and anxiety and treat depression.

2. Being too light or too heavy: Being too thin or too obese in women can cause hypothalamic pituitary dysfunction and lead to anovulation. Relevant data show that a 10%-15% weight loss or a 1/3 loss of body fat can lead to anovulation and amenorrhea. Therefore, for those women who pursue being thinner and thinner, if they do not want their uterus to develop poorly, they should not blindly follow the trend to lose weight, and just achieve a healthy weight. Normal weight calculation method: Body mass index = resting weight (kg) divided by height (meters) in square meters kg/m2

That is, BMI = weight/(height)2, and the body mass index of normal weight = 18-25.

3. Excessive exercise: Excessive exercise (such as ballet dancers, marathon runners, etc.) can affect the single-pulse metabolism of hypothalamic pituitary GnRH, causing cross-ovulation disorders and amenorrhea. The solution is to stop excessive exercise and it can be fixed;

4. Anorexia nervosa: The most common group is young women under 25 years old. They usually force themselves to lose appetite or refuse to eat, and their weight may drop by more than 25%. As a result, the hypothalamic pituitary function is inhibited, resulting in poor uterine development and even amenorrhea, accompanied by chills, low blood pressure, constipation, etc. Countermeasures: Do not ignore your physical health in pursuit of a slim figure. You must arrange your daily routine scientifically and have a healthy nutritional balance scientifically.

5. Pathological factors: Long-term use of chlorpromazine, emergency contraceptives and other drugs can inhibit the hypothalamus-pituitary gland from metabolizing GnRH, resulting in anovulation, menstrual disorders and amenorrhea, which will in turn block the ovulation period. Countermeasures: Stop taking medicine.
