How long does it take for the egg to mature?

The condition of a woman's eggs will affect pregnancy, because the number of eggs per month is limited. It is a very lucky thing for a woman to get pregnant. During the pregnancy preparation period, you need to have a good understanding of all aspects of pregnancy. So how long does it take for the egg cells to be discharged after they are mature?

How long does it take for the egg to be released after it is fully developed?

First of all, we need to briefly explain the physiological changes of the uterus and ovaries. In the female physiological cycle, the stage between the uterus and ovaries before ovulation is called the follicular phase, which is the stage when the egg cells grow, develop, and mature. By the end of this phase, the egg has grown and developed, and ovulation occurs. The period from ovulation to the next menarche is called the follicular phase, which is the stage of growth, development and decline of corpus luteum. Generally speaking, the length of the menstrual cycle is mainly determined by the length of the follicular phase. In other words, the length of the follicular phase varies greatly, while the ovarian phase is relatively fixed, usually about 14 days.

The ovulation period is before the follicular phase, so the ovulation period is mostly 14 days before the next menarche. For example, suppose a woman has her period every 30 days and estimates that October 1st is the first day of her next period. Then her ovulation period should be 14 days after October 1st, which is September 16th. Suppose another woman has a 40-day menstrual cycle and she starts her period on October 1, the first day of her next period may be November 11. Then her ovulation period may be October 27, 14 days before November 11. By analogy, you can calculate the ovulation period of women with different menstrual cycles. According to the above method, it is very easy to get pregnant if you have sex 2 days before ovulation, during ovulation and within 24 hours after ovulation.

Ultrasound manifestations of uterine development during normal menstrual cycle

1. Time of egg appearance: At the beginning of each menstrual cycle, several eggs grow and develop at the same time, but usually only one or two eggs develop to perfection, called primary eggs (mature follicles), and the other eggs are locked one after another. Some authors have reported that in more than 90% of the cycles, only one egg develops to maturity, and 5%-11% have two uteri develop. The earliest time for ultrasound imaging of eggs is between the 5th and 7th days of the menstrual cycle, and the minimum diameter displayed is 4-5mm.

2. Egg growth rate: Ultrasound can detect small eggs in the ovaries on the 3rd to 5th day of the menstrual cycle. Then they gradually grow larger and are the largest on the 14th day, indicating ovulation. From the 5th day of menstruation to before ovulation, the main egg grows an average of 1.5mm per day. During the 10th day, the average daily increase is 1.2mm, and in the 4 days before ovulation, the average increase is 1.9mm, until the uterus is fully developed.

Mature follicles can show the following characteristics: the egg is round or oval, with a diameter of 15-3b250m (21.2-0.53mm), there is no echo zone in the egg, it is clear and pure, with clear boundaries and thin walls. The blood contains 20% mature follicles one day before ovulation, from which the cumulus image can be seen, showing a short and strong echo near the wall inside the egg.
