What causes chest pain during puberty

In the traditional view of our people, the sign of girls entering puberty is the beginning of menstruation, but in fact, the first part of a girl's growth and development is the chest, that is, the breast. When girls enter puberty, some girls begin to feel chest pain. There are many reasons for chest pain in adolescent girls, but most of the conditions are normal and easy to recognize. If you encounter such a situation, girls don't need to panic, just understand the cause and master some ways to alleviate it.

1. What causes breast pain during puberty?

The first onset of breast pain in adolescent girls usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. At this time, the girl's breasts begin to grow and develop. At first, the nipples protrude, and the breast tissue under the nipples appears to have a dome-shaped lump about the size of a lentil to a cowpea, with mild swelling and pain. After the first menstruation, the swelling will disappear on its own as the breasts grow and develop during puberty.

According to doctors, after entering puberty, girls' bodies secrete a large amount of estrogen. When estrogen acts on the breasts, it will promote the growth of mammary glands and stimulate the growth of mammary ducts, which in turn will increase blood vessels and increase the water permeability of capillaries. Under the action of estrogen, the breasts begin to fill with water, and the breasts begin to tighten and firm. At this time, women's breasts begin to grow. At first, the nipple protrudes and a ring-shaped lump about the size of a lentil or cowpea appears in the breast tissue, with a mild feeling of distension and pain. During this process, the breasts become more and more sensitive, and usually feel tight. If they are compressed by external force, they will be very painful.

As the breasts gradually grow and develop, the body will secrete another hormone called progesterone, which can alleviate the effect of estrogen, inhibit breast proliferation, and relieve edema, so that the breasts tend to be balanced and no longer very painful. After the first menstruation, it disappears on its own as the breasts develop during puberty.

Of course, many women have experienced breast swelling and pain during menstruation. It's the same principle: during menstruation, the estrogen content in the body begins to increase and is out of balance, so there will be swelling and pain, which will go away with the end of the menstruation.

2. What to do if you have breast pain during puberty

First of all, generally, adolescent women may experience breast pain when they reach this stage. In order to alleviate the impact of this pain, you can gently massage the breasts at ordinary times to allow excess blood to return to the lymphatic system. When massaging, you can apply some soapy water on the breasts, and use your fingers on the surface circulation system of the breasts to gently massage. This is very effective in relieving breast discomfort. Secondly, many adolescent girls may experience breast pain after menstruation. It is best to eat less salt before menstruation, because high-salt foods can easily cause breast enlargement. Therefore, before menstruation, you should avoid the intake of such foods to avoid breast swelling and pain. Finally, if your breasts hurt, you can also use some hot water to apply, such as a hot compress bag, a hot water bottle or your own hot water can all relieve the swelling and pain of the breasts. If you can use cold and hot compresses alternately, the effect of eliminating breast discomfort will be better, so everyone must master this knowledge to be helpful.
