What is the reason for the pain in the left lower back?

There are many causes of low back pain, about dozens of them. The more common ones include kidney deficiency, lumbar bone hyperplasia, bone spurs, lumbar disc disease, intervertebral disc hypertrophy, spinal canal stenosis, lumbar fracture, spinal canal tumor, acute and chronic lumbar trauma or muscle strain, lumbar muscle strain, ankylosing spondylitis, etc. Lumbar pain refers to pain on one or both sides of the waist and the spine. It occurs in both men and women, but is more common in women. According to a survey, patients with low back pain as the main symptom in outpatient gynecology departments account for about 10% of the total number of visits.

1. Kidney stones

Low back pain is also a more obvious symptom of kidney stones. Generally speaking, the pain of low back pain caused by kidney stones is located higher up, above the waist and on both sides of the intervertebral disc. For patients, if they experience low back pain, they must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to determine whether the low back pain is caused by kidney stones, and do a good job in preventing kidney stones to prevent the condition from worsening and causing kidney function impairment.

2. Intervertebral disc disease

It is common in middle-aged women. As age increases, the symptoms of compression of the intervertebral disc nerves will increase. Latent spinal column dislocation caused by degenerative changes is a common disease, which can easily cause lumbar stenosis, compression of spinal nerves and nerve roots, and cause low back pain and radiating pain in the lower limbs. It is usually a cone collapse fracture caused by osteoporosis. The formation of osteophytes in the elderly can cause spinal muscle stiffness and persistent low back pain.

3. Reproductive diseases

The incidence of female reproductive organ inflammation is relatively high, such as chronic adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic connective tissue inflammation, salpingitis, etc. This kind of inflammation is very likely to be complicated by low back pain. Patients with pelvic tumors such as uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, and ovarian cysts may experience low back pain due to tumor compression of nerves or tumor cell invasion of pelvic connective tissue. In addition, abnormal position of the uterus, such as protrusion, retroflexion, or prolapse of the uterus, can also cause low back pain.

4. Lumbar muscle strain

People who work standing up for a long time, stand continuously, and often carry heavy objects on their backs, because of the continuous standing, the flexion and extension ability of the waist tendons and ligaments are weakened, and excessive lactic acid bacteria can accumulate in the parts, which inhibits the normal metabolism of the waist muscles, puts a heavy burden on the waist, is prone to scoliosis, and can also cause low back pain caused by lumbar muscle strain. Abnormal standing and sitting postures, and wearing too tight belts can also cause low back pain.
