Pregnancy due to hydrops at the fimbria of the fallopian tube

Many people have premarital physical examinations before marriage. Some women are diagnosed with hydrosalpinx, which is a common gynecological disease. Most women cannot get pregnant with hydrosalpinx, but some women unexpectedly find that they are pregnant despite having hydrosalpinx. They find it unbelievable. So what is the reason for getting pregnant with hydrosalpinx?

What is the reason for pregnancy with hydrosalpinx?

Hydrosalpinx may affect pregnancy, and it also depends on the severity of the water accumulation and whether it is on both sides or one side. Generally speaking, hydrosalpinx is one of the main manifestations of salpingitis, which may lead to blockage of the fallopian tube and affect pregnancy. But if only one side has water and the other side is normal, you can still get pregnant. It is recommended to rest and take medication if necessary.

What to do if you have bilateral hydrosalpinx

Once hydrosalpinx is discovered, it needs to be treated immediately, because if the condition worsens, it may cause women to be unable to conceive. With the development of medical technology, there are many ways to examine hydrosalpinx, mainly angiography, bilateral laparoscopic diagnosis of the fallopian tubes, ultrasound examination, etc., and laparoscopy is currently the most commonly used examination method.

Angiography is the simplest and most reliable method for detecting hydrosalpinx at present. X-ray showed that the entire line of the fallopian tubes on both sides was visualized and the fimbriae were thickened and enlarged. The delayed time film 20 minutes later showed residual shadows of the fallopian tubes on both sides, and there was no contrast agent diffusion in the pelvis.

Laparoscopic surgery is also a reasonable option for diagnosis. Bilateral fallopian tube laparoscopic surgery can immediately confirm the diagnosis of hydrosalpinx. During laparoscopic surgery, the adhesions between the fimbria and the surrounding area can be seen, and the function of the bilateral fallopian tubes can be determined.
